The place was very welcoming and the people working there very friendly. Me and my family went there to have dinner. At the entrance, there was the sign to wait to be served. We waited 20 seconds before Sabrina (the employee) came to accommodate us at a big table. While we were looking at the menu, we saw that a family was leaving and from their table there was a better view, so we asked to Richard (the manager/owner) if it was possible to move at the other table. He told us to wait 1 minute (the time to clean it), and he moved us to the table requested. We ordered the whale and the reindeer. In a few minutes, we got everything, and Richard came to explain more about what we ordered because it was our first time eating those dishes, and we appreciated it. We arrived at the restaurant quite late, but this gave us the opportunity to steal a bit of Richard and Sabrina's time to talk about the northern lights, the country, the traditions of that place and a lot more, trying to not compromise the service to the other tables. We noticed that while we were talking, other people around us were listening and trying to get more information, exactly like us.
I would say: the food was great and delicious, the atmosphere was very welcoming, the view was amazing, the people working there were very friendly and the price was not expensive at all (it may seem a bit but considering that you are in Norway I can say that it was ok). In the end, Richard proposed to me to go fishing with him in summer if I went back to Tromso again, so you can imagine how friendly they are.
Thanks again, Richard and Sabrina, I hope to...

Read moreWas here on NYE at an odd hour (around 4pm) and was only offered the NYE prix fixe menu to order from, but was hopeful that the food would still be good. I should've left after the crab they said they had on a sign outside wasn't available to order till 6p. Soup that was part of my set wasn't hot, but they were nice about reheating it. It was tasty but not anything outstanding... just a run-of-the-mill cream and butter based soup that seemed ordinary. Whale steak was served at room temperature, dry, hard to cut, and chewy... only thing on the plate that was hot were the fries, which I was happy about. I wasn't interested in the dessert that came with my set menu and asked if I could have a soda instead... nope! Service was meh... had to keep asking for water, which took forever for how quiet it was at 4-ish. After asking for water a second time, they brought me a pitcher which arrived as I was signing my card receipt. At least I got to drink three tiny glasses of water before I had to leave. I regret coming here in hopes of tasting some unique Norwegian foods. Absolutely nothing was even that tasty. Would've settled for something familiar but had flavor with how awful this place was. Come here only to hang at a dive-bar-like atmosphere with live music. Don't come here...
