I am working as a travel guide in Scandinavia for 4 yeas now and... This is by far the best restaurant in Scandinavia i have ever had dinner in.

The food is extraordinarily delicious, and tasty . The atmosphere is lovely, characteristic authentic.

The headwaiter is a charmant, extraordinary polite and and caring guy. Well dressed and speaking with a soft and pleasant voice, he gave us a great feeling eating at the restaurant.

The restaurant itself felt really cozy. It has a nice interior and every detail fitted together. From the wall decoration to the bread basket.

The prices are extremely fair. We paid around 600 nok per person. Starter (130 nok), main course (350 nok) and a dessert (120 nok) - excluding drinks (normal prices (0.5L beer 99 nok))

I recommend to reserve the table beforehand.

Hope to come back...

We were here obviously for the aurora.

The location was great.

The decour was amazing - very traditional setting and felt like being transported back in time to an incredibly traditional Norway home.

That was the best bit of the experience.

The food was okay. Nothing wrong with it but also nothing to write home about. The stereotype of Northern Europe seeing food as subsistence compared to Southern Europe where food is central to culture and life is very apparent here.

As you’ll see from the photos the food is very pale - there isn’t lots of flavour and excitement. But hey. It’s traditional food and so perhaps is exactly how it should be?

Anyway, if you’re in the area and want to see a traditional place serving traditional food. This is the place to go to. Just don’t expect a mind...

Decorated like your Norwegian great grandmother's kitchen, this popular restaurant in Svolvær offers great food, service and atmosphere. Book ahead and be sure to start with the delicious whale carpaccio that melts in your mouth. The menu pays homage to Norwegian food traditions so don't expect fancy emulsions or whatever is trending, just great quality produce cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the classic dish of fried cod tongues, but the rosemary lamb was probably the star of our evening. Expensive, but worth it.

Very chic restaurant that seems to be heavily booked. Fortunately, we got a table even without a reservation, another group was sent away (although the restaurant was empty except for us, reservations are estimated). The food (vegetarian option) was delicious. The salad had a very tasty dressing and the onions made it very fresh and juicy. The tomato stuffed with spinach / cheese was delicious too. The salted caramel dessert is highly recommended and is one of my favorite desserts in Lofoten.
