I visited this place about 2 weeks ago, and i left with a horrible opinion. I am original from this province, Chiriqui, but I live overseas and took my wife to visit Boquete. The lady that works there was absolutely rude to my wife and for not reason. We asked that lady if we can take the table for 5 since there are no many tables, and she told us that we can sit there, but if a group of 5 comes in, she would have to move us to another table. Make your own opinion. Then my wife asked her if they tomatoes or cucumbers just to accompany her breakfast, but this lady answered with such an attitude “No”. Nothing else, no customer service at all, not courtesy or whatsoever. She made us feel that we were asking for free food when that was not the case. I wonder if she treated us like that because we were speaking Spanish, or because of my wife’s accent (Venezuelan); but as soon as a group of foreigners speaking English walked in, her manners were so nice but only towards them. The only reason we ate at this place was because my wife had migraine and she needed to eat something asap, and that was the only open place i found, otherwise, i would have walked away immediately. I have visited more than 20 countries and hundreds of cities, and it is so sad to experience something like this on your country, your own province, by a person that made me regret eating at this place. Now i know not to recommend this place to any of my family members (living in Boquete), coworkers and peers that are visiting Boquete. If you want to take a chance after reading this,...
Read moreI'm sad that I am leaving this review. Walking in, the place was so cute. Reviews are fantastic. But I can't believe how terribly we were treated today. From the moment we walked in, the girl working. Seemed like she had zero desire to be there. No that's okay. They were busy so maybe she was just overwhelmed. We ordered our drinks and then our food. It took 20 minutes for my hot chocolate. My husband got two cups of coffee and a smoothie before my hot chocolate came out. When it finally did, I took one sip, and I spit it out. There was something very wrong with the milk. It was very sour. We tried telling the owner, Olga, and she said no. No! It's not our mouth. Maybe you ate something last night that's messing with your taste. Seriously? Either way, we asked them to take it away. Then my meal came out, and it was the swedish pancakes with whipped cream on it. I kept trying to eat the whipped cream, but it also had a sour taste. It wasn't as bad, but every time I took a bite, my stomach turned and I had to spit it out. My husband tried these things as well and also said it was sour. Again, we tried to tell them and they said too bad. And charged us for the entire meal. We try to explain that we've been here for 5 days and I've had the same food at multiple other restaurants with no issues, they just walked away from us.. I just cannot believe how incredibly rude these guys were about a situation that did not have to get that out of hand. Why would I lie...
Read moreWould not recommend. Only foreigners are welcome here. My first experience was nice. The old lady was very warm and friendly. So the next time I decided to bring a friend who was just visiting. Unfortunately the other waitress that was working was very rude to us. She never smiled and gave the impression that we were not at all welcome. I can say that because she slammed the plates on the table when she served us, never spoke to us and made snide comments when my friend didn’t answer right away what she wanted as she was still on the menu. When I asked my left over food to go, I saw her touch the sandwich (without gloves) when she put it in the food bag. Prior to that she was cleaning tables. I respectfully said, I would not take the food anymore. She asked why, I told her the reason that her hand was on the food. She rolled her eyes and angrily put the food away. Not even an apology considering we already paid for it. On the other hand she was so nice and friendly to the foreigners that were there. Made small talk and jokes with them. We didn’t look like foreigners. Sadly. I’ve heard many good things about this place but after this experience, I am disappointed. I feel bad because it ruined the boquete experience of my friend when we were having a good time. I really liked the grandma working there. I hope they learn a thing or...
