Great view, but don’t order the steak.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, let them know in the reservation (in Spanish) that was the event, and asked for a surprise dessert with candles. Nothing came.
I ordered the $36 steak, expecting something good. It came out looking like a skirt steak, ~half an inch think, 1/3 fat. Not much flavor and over cooked. I’d pay $15 for that in the states.
I asked the server to take it back (I hate doing that) because I couldn’t conceive of spending $36 for that quality of steak. The server took it, returned, and told me they’d bring me a burger but I’d still have to pay for the steak. He explained that the fat was “marbling” and it was an expensive imported steak.
I couldn’t justify paying that much for that quality, but am I really paying for nothing now? Yes, because when I asked the server to bring me the steak to-go so I wasn’t throwing away money, he said he couldn’t.
Terrible experience. $200 for charcuterie, prawns, and a...
Read moreWe'd spent the entire day touring the Panama canal so when we hit Capital Bistro we were tired, dehydrated and hungry. This is a very cool restaurant on three levels and we got seated on the top, outdoor deck. Then the wait staff got busy attending to our every need. Water, bread, cocktails and wine. We were a big group so we ordered one of every appetizer on the menu. The wait staff was awesome; young, energetic and having as much fun as we were. The food was excellent and our entrees came out in perfect time. All the time our glasses never were empty and we never had to ask for anything to be done, it just happened. Our best experience in Panama City without a doubt. After dinner we walked around the old city for a while and then caught an Uber back to our hotel. Can't say enough good about the...
Read moreAfter walking around for some time we came upon this place with nice tables right outside by the water. Since we were hungry and had our daughter in a stroller we decided to sit down and eat there. The place is clean and you can tell it was higher end than most places. We had two waiters twirling around us and one spoke some English. They brought us our drinks and with our appetizers they brought us this tiny little sushi taster that was great. Our orders of grouper and red snapper were well prepared, the fish simply melted in our mouth. The tres leches dessert was disappointing but overall it was a great dining experience. The bill was a bit high but for a night out once in awhile it...
