"La Cusqueñita" — Restaurant in Distrito de Cusco

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation, but the service was definitely not up to the minimum standard of an average restaurant. We only have a terrible experience. They comply with all the health security protocols due to the covid issue, unfortunately, they do not have a person who will receive you at the door and who can place you in a place. Already at the table, it is understandable that with the demand that there was, they take a while to serve you. Once the order is placed, we wait for more than half an hour for the drinks to be brought to us and to make the wait more pleasant. We had to ask three waitresses to please bring us our drinks until they did so at our insistence. We had ordered three dishes, it began to arrive one by one every 10 minutes until when they brought the second dish they told us that the third dish was out of stock. I admit that they were very sorry, however, the experience was not good at all. We no longer request another dish. Regarding the dishes I observed, I understand that they were well served, but regarding the flavor they are compliant. We tried only Sarsa de Patitas and Caldo de Gallina. When in Peru.... you gotta eat CUY! Or guinea pig...

I've searched all over the place for cuy and found this place. Apparently they specialize in this.

When we came to the place ... there was probably more staff than patrons here. They recently moved and probably switched to accommodate big tour groups.

There was on going bands and dance presentations. One thing was they were screeching and it might have been traditional but I felt irritated while eating my " cuy"

Obviously we tried the cuy. We got the roasted kind and chich a morada.

The dish came within 5 minutes...this surprised me so it meant that they had it all prepared in the back and it's not cooked when ordered. I question the freshness of cuy. The cuy was rubbery didn't have a lot of meat and basically we didn't enjoy it. It might've been different if it was fried but I'd suggest not going out of your way to eat this specific cuy. The waiter was helpful in that he took our photo with the full cuy then took it back to get it cut into smaller pieces.

Overall I don't think I'd eat here again. There's plenty of amazing...

Terrible food and show, went here on a recommendation from our Airbnb host and it almost ruined the remainder of our trip. My girlfriend and i caught a bad case of FOOD POISONING right before we left Cusco on the Peruhop bus. I barely made it to Puno before it hit me and i was in the hotel bathroom for 17 straight hours, then we had to endure another 12 hour bus ride to Arequipa, when it hit my girlfriend when we got there and she was out for 48 straight hours... we are actually still recovering 3 weeks later and the doctors said we were lucky not to have been hospitalized in Peru... we probably should have went, but couldnt move.

I'll spare you anymore details, but please take my advice and avoid at all costs, its not worth the risk of them serving you contaminated food. Very...
