at first sight the hotel looks impressive but dig a little deeper and the gloss comes off. I know its a personal choice but the beds were very hard , there is no Airconditioning with the rooms with rooms either having a window facing onto one of the busiest streets in Cusco so if you want constant beeping and carbon monoxide feel free to open a window , other rooms had windows opening on to the mezzanine level , not sure if there were other quieter rooms , the noise did settle down at night but we didnt want to leave the window open as it was so bright with the street lights. there was also a kettle and a lamp in the room neither of which had a plug that fit the socket. luckily I had an international socket and was able to plug the kettle in and then wait 15 minutes for it to boil. I was also very disappointed with the hotel having a mezzanine on the inside of the hotel going up all floors , on both nights they had functions which were quiet loud, and while its quite normal for hotel guests to have poor etiquette in returning to their rooms you wouldnt normally expect to be facing load noise from the ground floor. on a positive note the hotel room and bathroom was very clean , the restaurant for...
Read moreThe hotel itself is nice. My room is clean and bed is comfortable. I knocked one star off because I could hear everything going on at the reception from inside my room. Granted I was on the second floor. Bust still, for a four star hotel, I had expected minimal noise. I knocked another star because the male receptionist was abrupt with me and was not willing to help. I had not been feeling well and was not able to eat. The only thing my stomach was as to tolerate was cup noodles. I needed to be picked up from the lobby at 4:30am for Machu Picchu trip. I didn't have dinner the night before and was very hungry. I asked if I could have some hot water so I could eat my cup noodles. He just looked at me and said no hot water available, the thermos at the lobby is not working. He asked if I was a guest, I said no but stayed with them for three nights and had checked out the other day (I was staying at another hotel at that point). I asked again if there's anywhere else I could get some. He ignored me. I was weak and not in the mood to engage further so I just sat down and waited for the pick up. A little compassion goes a long way. That happened Friday,...
Read moreWorst option in Cusco. The hotel is built around an indoor patio and the isolation is awful and of course the patio is where the restaurant is. which means that day and night you hear plates clinging or people talking as if they were in your room. The staff is one of the most incompetent hotel staff I’ve seen and I sleep in hôtes about 90 nights a year. Special highlight for the manager who flat out refuses to have the curfew respected and prioritizes restaurant guests over hotel guests and says that it’s not the hotel policy to tell guests to respect some sort of silence : at 2 am!!!! Yes 2 AM! 15 people playing music in the lobby with their Bluetooth speaker but the staff says “well we tried talking to these people they won’t listen so maybe you can try”!!! Again curfew is at 11pm.. so on top of being rude and incompetent and Total disrespect for the guest , it’s ILLEGAL. Seriously Go somewhere else if you plan on sleeping (which is what people look for in...
