After struggling to find quality coffee, bread and reasonably priced meals in Iquitos, I finally landed up Amazon Bistro. Their coffees are the best I've tried in all of town. They have great breakfasts starting at 8/soles on up that include coffee and a juice. The staff and owners are cordial and accommodating. There is free WiFi (something you won't find at Dawn of the Amazon Café) and the split level gives a range of seating options. And don't let me forget the bathroom! Exquisite and very comfortable. You'll know what I mean if you spend any time in Iquitos. :)
The only bummer is a lack of outdoor seating. Other than that, it's a great alternative to other restaurants...

I understand it's owned by a Frenchman, and my chicken in white sauce with fries was actuaslly quite tasty (chicken breast strips in a white andmushroom sauce). OK decor, but has to be one of the last restaurants in the world where they tolerate smoking. When we asked the waitress if we had mistakenly sat in the smoking area we just got a blank look.
