Considering the price and the unfortunately disappointing service, I can’t recommend a stay here!
Positive things: big comfortable bed’s, very friendly female staff at the restaurant, nice view from the rooftop terrace.
Negatives: Upon arrival the staff at the reception was rather rude and condescending. One of us is peruvian and we all speak Spanish and English fluently, so it wasn’t a language issue. Everything we asked seemed to annoy him or he just didn’t know anything about the hotel. For example he would explain our rooms have street view, but it were the inside ones without a view at all. We didn’t mind so much about the rooms, just paying for a 4star hotel and the receptionist not knowing anything and being rude didn’t give us a good impression.
They also didn’t bother to inform us, that they don’t have warm/hot water at the moment (they also couldn’t give any information on how long that’ll go on, so keep that in mind for the next weeks!). Half the hotel is still a construction site, so during the day it’s extremely noisy.
Bathrooms are extremely small, the “inside” rooms have not much option for fresh air.
As I mentioned before, the female staff at the restaurant was amazing, the two male waiters just unfriendly, bored and ignoring customers.
Breakfast would have been ok for a dormitory hostel for a 10th of the price. For 4 stars in Peru it was really disappointing.
So in conclusion: If the place would feature one star and offer rooms for half the price, my recommendation would be a good one, for 4stars I can’t...

Check in & First Impression I came to the “Hotel de Turistas” after experimenting with a jungle lodge. The staff quickly handed me my room key within five minutes of arrival, I was relaxing in the bathtub overlooking the Amazon. And it is the best view in the city. The panoramic vista gives you a map of the vibrant life of Iquitos on one side and offering a serene view of the Amazon River on the other. (Sunrise pic attached)
Location & Quality What you need to understand about Iquitos if you’ve never been there before is the smog: as soon as you land you’re gonna wish you’d booked on the river bank or in the jungle instead of the middle because, even one more block in, the exhaust from motorbike taxis hangs in the air thick. It stings the nostrils. I stayed at another hotel as well and recommend bringing a small air filter if you do go to Iquitos at all. What truly sets this hotel apart is the refreshing onshore wind from the Amazon that gently makes this one street of the city much more breathable and less smokey.
Service The staff also made multiple accommodations for me while I was being acting like a “White Lotus Karen” because I was sick including help translating and offering to upgrade my room. Absolutely...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE ON THE WEEKEND! 😩
Simply put, the bar/night club upstairs plays loud music till 2am. Thus making the hotel not worth the stay despite a beautiful renovation, a delicious restaurant and great views. Especially do not book the suite with a river view as it is located under the discotheque on the 4th floor. You will not get any sleep till after 2am 🎶🥁🎛️😫. 2 /5
Rooms: Cozy beds, newly renovated, nice amenities, strong AC, beautiful bathroom and a large soaker tub. 5/5
Location: Beautiful views of the Amazon river and the terraces below. 4/5
Staff: Friendly. However they need to provide ear plugs if they want to also run a night club on top of the hotel. 3/5
Lastly, this hotel visually is 4+⭐ but the loud club on the 4th floor makes sleeping here not worth it, if staying over the weekend when the club runs till 2am playing boom boom music all night makes this a strong no in my books. This is a hotel right. 2/5
Recommendation for the owners, lose the loud music and focus on being a hotel not a night club. Perhaps the bar needs to become a piano bar on the 4th floor and not a night club. I'm sure many guests the night of my stay...
