We expected great service like we had received when we had gone to Mangos, but we were extremely disappointed. The service was what stood out the most unfortunately, sadly it was not a great experience.
We came to Larcomar because we wanted good food and good service, but when we showed up with our backpacks and ordered a ton of food it seemed as though we were being told that we were ordering too much. On multiple occasions the waiter asked us if we were sure that ordering 6 rolls on top of everything else was right. Apparently people were not accustomed to paying so much for food, or didn’t know how to properly read a menu and how much each item cost.
Another thing I must add is that the drink menu was awesome, the cover art was great. So much so that I wanted to see if I could purchase it. When I was told I could not I was understanding and said thank you. Apparently the waiters told the management staff that they thought I might steal it or something (my friends overheard the conversation) so one of the managers came over and appeared to double check to see if the cameras pointed in our direction were working, yes I am serious, I was told that after we had left by my friends who were able to capture a quick pic of the guy checking his cctv DVR. I’m sorry guys, but if I wanted to steal this paper menu, I wouldn’t have first asked if I could buy it, I was simply trying to be nice by asking.
Once our food arrived it was decent, fish was fresh on the sushi, big props to the sushi chef on a great presentation of all 6 rolls. The fish ‘n’ chips used some kind of oil that made our friend extremely sick when we got to our place so we would say avoid those if you can.
Check out the place, but don’t expect the best service, especially if you just got off of a plane and went straight there because you...
Read more"Popular" restaurant at Lacomar Miraflores. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs, you know the ones that are OMG delicious, meaty, fall-off-the-bone good with an awesome BBQ sauce that's been finished on the grill. MM MMM MMMM, yeah no sorry but these ribs were absolutely the worst ribs ever.....maybe thrown in the oven uncovered for a lot less time than necessary, certainly not low and slow and then tossed in the microwave and finished with BBQ sauce thrown on top at the last moment. Purely DISGUSTING. To be honest this was my second choice. They were out of my first choice, a simple hamburger. How do you not have hamburgers for a restaurant that caters to tourists. I am sure there are plenty of great restaurants here in Miraflores but I made a bad choice in restaurants and even a worst choice thinking that they could remotely master ribs (although to be honest, it is quite an easy dish to master). Here in the "Culinary Center" of the world. You would be better served with the 5 dishes that seem to be available in every single restaurant: Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Aji de Gallina, Cuy, or Antichucos. Outside of those things, the food in Lima is mediocre to incredibly bad. Try to order an over medium egg. For me, living here (not visiting for a week), the food here becomes monotonous. This experience with the ribs is not out of the ordinary. Peruvian restaurants can only master a few things (over and over and over again). Culinary Center of the World?? I sincerely doubt it.
Don't go to this restaurant unless you are desperate (I mean, right before you turn into a cannibal). ...
Read moreI visited Lacomar Shopping Mall and saw this restaurant with its menu on the front while i was passing by. I saw they did have Ceviches (popular raw fish salat dish in Lima), which i did not try yet, so i went in. The view is amazing but unfortunetly i got a table with the view to the shops or the bar (probarly since i was a single person). Their menu is a scan code, so you need your phone and internet to see their menu. The price was too high for the dish, 64 solos which is a lot compared to restaurants on local areas (and if we compare to Subway then you can get 2x footlong sandwiches to the same price). I should have known this place for little higher prices since no prices on their menu at front. Thats why loses one star. To be honest i did not like the dish, i dont know if they did it wrong or not, since i only eat it here, and i did not try anything else on their menu. Since it is a salat dish, i did espect more vegetables. Too much raw fish and a very sour sauce. I would prefer a smaller portion to less money. And the worst part was that they out one slice of a very hot chili on it, which with the lime and onion did kill all my taste on my to tonque. So...
