This is a great restaurant and I had a great time. Let's do a rundown.

I. SERVICE QUALITY - while initially slow the service picked up once then the server explained everything in total. There were several options to consider one was what they call a Half Tablet (five pieces), then you had a Full Tablet (ten pieces) and then what they call a Bar Libere. The Bar Libre include all the sushi you could eat plus a beverage. Amazingly the beverage was just not a glass it was a whole pitcher. All the options were clearly explained to me by the server. This is where the service really came through let alone the competence of the server.

II. FOOD QUALITY - It was EXCELLENT if you want to be extra critical maybe 4/5 because I prefer Basmati Rice with Sushi. The finish appeared to be fresh despite the late time of night that I came to this restaurant. The beverage quality was excellent as I said earlier it was a whole pitcher. The Star Fruit was used in my beverage by the taste of the beverage it appeared to be fresh.

III. ATMOSPHERE -The place was very busy yet you are not overwhelmed by the volume of people talking to one another. The furnishings were more than acceptable they appear to be in very good condition. The reason I grade the restaurant down is because there was no padding on the chairs.

As I conclude this evaluation my final thoughts are this. If you want a great restaurant to go eat sushi at this restaurant...

¿Volvería a ir?

This Shimaya experience was not the best, I have tried many different Shimaya's locals and this one was the worst. Whenever I go to a shimaya I buy some sides, just because I love how ramen stores sell sets, and since they don't have it I create myself requesting sides (chicken, Meat, Pork, Tofu). But, in this local, they refused to sell me meat, pork, and chicken sides for no reason. The food was not that great as their other restaurants, so I took the Shoyu ramen and it wasn't like I expected. Their local is really small, and it was really hot even having an AC, but that AC is too small for the size of the restaurant. Shimaya is really good, but I recommend trying...

I must say this is the best sushi place I have seen in Miraflores and surrounding areas. The first time I went there, I brought my family with a party of 6, and they were all in the weeds, and we waited 1.5 hours, and it's was worth it. Another thing was the staff was great and they gave us a gift for having to wait so long. I have been back twice already and will continue to go back because it was great . The food was good, the portion size of the sushi was good and the prices were good. This is a must go for any sushi lover in Miraflores. I will be back soon. I give this place a two thumbs up 👍 👍
