Horrible customer service! Asked for a small change to my order and the wait staff told me it couldn’t be done. After telling staff I didn’t want to order they returned and stated they could prepare my burger with the modifications. Burger was delivered without the changes made and when I asked about it I was told “sorry but we can’t alter the order”. I returned the plate as it was not what I’d ordered. I was still charged for the burger and when I called this to the waitresses’ attention, she indicated she would remove the charge. After returning with the updated bill the waitress would not allow my colleague or I to see the bill. After she made a charge to my colleague’s credit card we received a copy of the bill and realized the burger still had not been removed. We waited for approximately 15 minutes while management went to a nearby business to get change to provide a refund to my colleague. All of this while my colleague and I were the only 2 customers and there was a staff of 5-6 employees. Very disappointed as I’ve ordered from this restaurant before and the food was pretty decent. Hoping this was just a bad day for them but unfortunately I won’t be returning to...
Read moreThis place is almost entirely disappointing. I have eaten here 3 times because the food is good but, unfortunately, the restaurant is ran by inept employees with the apparent attention spans of monkeys. 3 out of 3 times that I’ve been there, I have received the wrong order, even after the server repeats it back to me correctly.
With the most recent visit, my order AND my girlfriend’s order were both wrong. They gave her the clasica burger with only sauce (why? Monkeys.) and charged us 6 soles more for the 28 de Julio burger, which she actually ordered. Not only did they give her the wrong order, but when we explained what happened, they still charged us for the more expensive burger. The server apologized and said he would give us a flier for 20% off of our next visit but we insisted that there would be no next visit since they wouldn’t even charge us the correct amount for the burger we received.
Having said all of that, the food is actually quite good- all the more disappointing that the customer service is so unbelievably bad. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with these incompetent employees and try El Jefe right around the...
Read moreThis restaurant is almost a hole-in-the-wall establishment. The decor is modern, the lighting low to create a chill atmosphere, and there are music videos playing silently on a screen. What I mean by hole-in-the-wall is that the restaurant isn't positioned in a tourist area. If you don't know where it's at, you won't find it.
The food was great. It was plenty to fill me up. Unfortunately because of COVID, the patrons are sparse. However, I can see this place easily filling up on a weekend night. The place is small but not claustrophobic. Next door is a barbershop and to the left, if you keep going, you'll hit the Costa Verde (a thirty-minute walk). Overall, I recommend it as a safe spot for a tourist to eat at, or for a Peruvian to splurge, but if you're trying to get the Peruvian street-food experience or want an authentic experience of Lima, you're better off exploring central Lima with a Peruvian...
