Service is good but food leaves a lot to be desired for the price
The tiradito Nikkei was way too vinergary, and the tuna didn’t taste very fresh, the gyozas not very good and hard to eat as they were attached to a giant piece of tempura, the makis were decent but nothing amazing .
Don’t get me wrong this place wasn’t horrible by any means. I’d give this place a pass if the dishes were 30 soles each, which is what it should be priced at, but they’re all around 60 soles each, meaning you could easily drop close to $100usd here for 2x ppl, placing it in competition with places with much higher quality Sushi/Nikkei at that price range
Staff were friendly, service was good, environment was nice, the drinks were good and but 4.9 rating, really? is much higher than it deserves, which is what got me to enter this place. They need to focus on improving quality of the dishes as Miraflores Nikkei restaurant have very high standards, this place doesn’t measure up is like a causal dining spot but at...
Read moreI went for dinner to Tokuyo. Negroni sake cocktail was great , mango juice delicious and fresh. I tried: 5 piece octopus chimichurri sushi, ceviche Nikkei and lomo saltado. Very good quality food, really interesting octopus sushi with a twist. A bit more expensive than average prices in restaurants in Lima but still worth the price for great quality! I was with my partner and we ordered sushi to share, ceviche for me and the lomo for him. His plate, the only one warm, arrived MUCH earlier than the sushi and my ceviche. When I mentioned it to the waiter when paying the bill he told me that’s because they was an argument in the kitchen. Which is not an info you say to the customer, and also he didn’t say sorry bringing the plates late. Another thing for low service is the attention of the waitress, she was on her phone so much, she didn’t pay attention at all until we stood up to ask...
Read moreMaybe the food we ordered wasn't the best on the menu, but our experience didn't feel like it lived up to the reviews. The bao buns weren't really bao buns. The dough wasn't steamed adequately as it should be and was more bread like similar to a slider. The tuna bao was forgetable and the char siu one tasted more like teriyaki. Despite, not being a bao bun, the chicken one was good. The siu mai were incredibly bland. The yakisoba noodles were too sweet, though the included veggies were good. The tuna tataki was forgetable and wouldn't recommend it. The portions were all generous and the services was good. Drinks were good as well. I would have a hard time recommending this place to others. Your luck may very depending on what you order, but I believe there are better options...
