This meal and restaurant had its high and low points. When we were looking over the menu outside the manager came by and offered us free pisco sours with any meal (drinks that we never ended up getting). Their set lunch menu was 12 soles (about $4) for juice, roasted corn snack, appetizer, entre, and dessert. When we tried to order the server said that they didn't have any of the entres on the menu and listed off some other things that we couldn't barely hear in the noisy room and couldn't understand. Eventually we ordered something, but we didn't really know what. The restaurant is a big open room and some outdoor tables. While we were eating a lady was going table to table begging for money. Not sure what the rules on that are, but no one asked her to leave and she made rounds for the entire time we were there.

Four our appetizers we got two classic dishes, causa and ceviche. We have no basis for comparison since we've never had them before, but they were excellent. I was a bit nervous about the ceviche (raw marinated fish), but it was limey, slightly spicy and delicious. I'm not a big fish person, but this wasn't fishy at all. The onions were a bit strong, but the slice of sweet potato balanced it nicely. I was a bit nervous about raw fish this cheep but our guide assured us that this place was clean. Causa is a cold salad of seasoned mashed potatoes stuffed with just about anything from veggies to meats.

The main course was ok, but I'm really not sure what we ate. We were presented with some kind of beef and a fritter thing, both accompanied by a puree (probably, a traditional pumpkin stew), and white rice. The puree was pretty tasty but everything else was just ok. Dessert was some...

AVOID. Worst food experience of my whole trip so far. Ordered the more expensive set meal of 28 soles and decided on the Cordon Bleu to match the restaurants name -- signature dish should be good. However it came out looking nothing like the picture and somewhat unappealing. I took one bite but it didn't seem right and then looked inside. Raw chicken... Not great and the waitress' indifference not helpful either. I sent it back expecting a fresh dish (this already took ages to be served/improperly defrosted) but what came back was an even more refried semi chopped up bit of chicken and the same dry cold chips and rice. Since language an issue I couldn't waste further time arguing - they still charged for it and I left. It was recommended by Inkan City Tour guide but listen and pick a less touristy place where the staff are...

We had a late evening dinner. Apparently, in Perú, they don’t eat late like in other Latino countries. They were closing at 10. Anyway our server was excellent and tried very hard to meet our needs. First, I ordered calamari, but they were out of stock. So I switched to grilled liver. It was okay, just a little overcooked. I still ate all of it. My wife ordered a tri-color salad. Tomatoes, cheese, and avocados. No avocados! It’s the most common food in South America. They offered to add extra queso and we accepted. Sadly, they didn’t balance the tomato with the cheese. Oh well. The food around us looked good, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good. The pisco sour was superior. Try it. No...

Twice I traveled to Peru this year 2024, and each time I've brought friends and family to the same place. I think we had either lunch or dinner there almost every day 😊. Food was always on point, they even accommodated mine and my guests very eccentric requests! And the attention was excellent, we were treated as best friends, which I'll have to say I am now, friends with one of the hostess. Even though I'm not in Peru now, I'm still telling friends about the variety, quality and deliciousness of their food and their great and fun atmosphere.
