To start things off, the restaurant was great and the service was excellent! No complaints regarding the cleanliness of the restaurant or food. They truly deserve a visit! Price is a bit steep but this is to be expected when in AC. More of all this below...

When we first arrived to the restaurant we were met by one of the nicest servers during our stay in Perú. Her name was Linda and she went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable and pleasant despite her english being a little rusty. In fact, when we she offered to take our photo (we never asked!), she crossed the bridge (perpendicular to the restaurant) just to get a different angle!

Okay, back to the restaurant and the food itslef. We came back twice during our stay here at Aguas Calientes and both times, the food was excellent. First day, I got their bife a la parilla (steak) - it was their special and it was so good! Second day, I tried their pepper alpaca steak and again, it was well prepared! Furthermore, we received complimentary drinks called pisco sour - a nice and delicious touch. The background of the restaurant (patio area) was also appreciated as it was parallel to a gushing stream - it was beautiful.

Overall a great place to eat and unwind; however, if you are looking for something cheap (hard to find in Aguas Calientes - at least one where getting diarrhea isn't a concern post meal) you might be dissuaded. But for 47 soles (approx. 18 CAD) you can get a decent steak... yeah, I'll take one. Would definitely recommend and come back if I'm...

TOURIST TRAP WITH HIGH PRICES AND DISHONEST MANAGEMENT. AVOID!

This place is overrated and VERY overpriced.

I decided to try the "Maki Andina", and at a pricetag of 40 soles, this starter dish was basically just causa with an elevated Japanese style (maki roll) presentation. (It also didn't have the shrimp as listed in menu. This had fish. Not sure if this is better or worse, but there was a scant amount of fish, avocado, and cream cheese) To give you an idea of what a ripoff this is... in Cusco I just got an entire 3 course meal (stuffed avocado starter, lomo saltado main, and ice cream dessert) with a maracuya pisco sour... for the same price as this small dish of mashed potatoes rolled in quinoa!

The two beers I tried (quinoa mama and apu veronica) were good, but quite pricey at 30 ($7!) soles for 12 oz. This is definitely the most expensive restaurant I have visited during my 8 days in Peru.

UPDATE: The owner saw my 3 star review and didn't like that, so he wrote me a messsge insisting that they don't serve that dish (he said it's not on the menu), so I must be mistaken and been elsewhere. WOW... lies and gaslighting attempts by the manager mean NOBODY should trust going to this place!

I told him I have a photo of the dish sitting right there on the bar in his establishment, with the dining room in the background. I have PROOF I ate this dish there, and for him to try to coerce me to remove my review? Also... I just checked Chullos own website, and the dish is right there...

I’d give this a 3.5/5 if Google let me. The service was very good. Our server Judith was attentive and sweet. She gave good recommendations, our favorite of which being the Yuka Balls. Our food was good, fast, and had large portion sizes. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very warm. They put a fan on at the ending of our dining experience because several customers had mentioned the temperature. I was sitting on the wall with wine bottles which was lit. There were tons of gnats and flies attracted to that light. I killed at least 3 before we even ordered. I eventually moved to the other side of the table so I wasn’t in the booth with the bugs. We came here for dinner because our hotel recommended it and we got 2 free pisco sours. Honestly, these places must just have relations with hotels because I saw other tables being served the complimentary drinks too. That being said, I don’t think it deserves almost 5 stars like it has on TripAdvisor. I wish we would have tried another restaurant in Aguas Calientes especially given the price...
