Ahhhh so disappointed with our experience in Solibao.
What we got and how it was: ✔️ Kare-kare rice bowl: The kare-kare itself was bland, wala sya lasa talaga unless gamitan ng bagoong/alamang. Serving size was ok for one person. ✔️ Lechon Kawali: Very crunchy, pero same ng kare-kare...wala din siya lasa hahahaha gagamitan pa ng sauce. I'm not fond of condiments so I'd rather the base food be savoury on its own. ✔️ Crispy Diniguan: It was ok? Pang-masa ung lasa, it was crisp as hell though ✔️ Garlic Rice: Cute size, platter na sya... could use more flavour considering it's garlic fried rice. Imagine I had this and the lechon kawali...super walang lasa 😭 ✔️ Solibao Chop Suey: It has seafood in it like small shrimp and fish ball... Para saming lahat, sobrang lansa ng lasa and amoy. Very fishy/sea-like smell and it does not go well when you're eating lmao. Veggies are fine to be half-cooked but not the shrimp! My sister's fave seafood is shrimp but she couldn't eat the shrimp from this one. This is probably one of the worst chpp sueys I've ever had, so sad.
Anyway with this experience we'll probably never go...
Read moreOne of the best restos we found while walking around Session Road. Serving is more than enough for 2pax, taste is awesome and their prices are definitely worth it. The place is not too crowded (perhaps we dropped by on a weekday, after luch hour). Definitely recommend their puto bumbong.
Servers during that time are attentive and quick to attend to our requests. Again, perhaps it's due to the fact that we dropped by on a weekday after lunch hours. They are also well versed with their menu and was able to explain the ingredients in their food. This is one of the things we consider very important as I have very severe allergic reaction to some ingredients and my family does not eat pork.
The ambiance makes me think of 90s Filipino films - cozy with a nostalgic feel to it. Will definitely drop by this place again when we...
Read moreOur extended family of nine people and one dog enjoyed eating lunch here. It was 11am and Baguio breeze was real. We dined Al Fresco style. They have good food selection from full meals to desserts to big servings. Our kuya server was friendly and helpful. Since it's a restaurant the prices are at that level but still a little affordable. They have breakfast all day options and it was delicious. The ambiance was great here. Cons: 1. Not much vegan-friendly options. 2. The bathroom was tiny. Its cubicle doors are chest level and there wasn't comfort in that room. One toilet doesn't have flush. Tabo realness. 3. Cutlery and plates cleanliness could use a little more inspection. Overall, its location at Burnham park is great for families and their serving time was reasonable even when it's busy with plenty...
