I recently visited a well-known steakhouse in Cebu that I used to enjoy, but this visit was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, I noticed that several staff members were occupying customer tables, chatting and relaxing instead of attending to guests. It already felt unprofessional.
Once seated, I was surprised to see many menu items—especially steaks—marked as “N/A.” These weren’t just side items, but some of their main signature dishes.
I ordered David Dean’s Tenderloin, specifically because it was one of the few dishes still available and it was supposed to come with mashed potatoes (which I prefer over rice). However, what was served was a steak placed directly on top of plain white rice. I was not informed about any changes when ordering.
When I asked the staff, they simply said mashed potatoes were not available and that they had substituted rice without informing me. No apology, no compensation, just a flat-out “That’s how it is.” I was still charged the full price of 475 pesos.
This level of service is unacceptable. The quality has dropped significantly over the years, and staff training seems nonexistent. Tourists and locals alike deserve better. I won’t return, and I strongly suggest others think twice...
Read moreHad dinner at casa Verde with my parents today. I used to recommend this place to foreigners and family friends but I will never do this ever again. I ordered a david dean steak and it was the lenght of my middle finger and as wide as 2 1/2 of my finger. My hand is thin by the way. I ordered medium as the wellness of my meat. It came cold and hard the top was burnt and the mashed potato underneath sucked up all the sauce. I thought I was given a well done tenderloin but when I cut it open it was medium rare. I can cook, so I know this meat was cooked 2 twice, so I bit it knowingly but it looked medium rare but it tasted rare. I just have to ask them to cook it again. So called the waitress over, she saw me but didn't come over so I called a waiter instead. He called the same waitress over, the waitress doesn't even know the difference between rare and well done. My parent order which is different from mine, had better meat texture but still cooked twice and they hot medium instead of medium well. Mashed potato was commercialized and the soup of the week is corn soup (tasted like watered down corn potage)....

Just went to dine in Casa Verde at Ayala. However, we waited outside Casa Verde for almost two hours for us to go inside and have our seats. And still waited for a few.minutes for our food to be served.
Place was too small and kind of dim but I guess it's their style and their 'signature' since Spanish for GREEN HOUSE is CASA VERDE. That's why when you go there, their walls are painted with dark green.
We ordered ribs and chips&salsa. And I can say it really is worth the money hehehe. 😋😋
I gave 3 stars because it was really...
