Cole's Cansi is a small eatery along Escario St. in Cebu City. We went there upon the recommendation of a friend.
It's main dish is cansi, a Visayan specialty of beef and bone marrow, boiled for hours and made sour with a fruit called batuan. Served with rice. Perfect meal for meat lovers.
We also ordered their other specialty, their crispy fried pork knuckles. Gotta eat it with your bare hands to really enjoy the experience. Other menu items we ordered were Cansi flakes, and fired boneless milkfish. All food were 2 thumbs up. Cansi is the best we've had so far
Service is good although we had to wait until a table for 5 was available. The restaurant is quite small, the area could only accommodate about 20 persons at a time. There is an al fresco dining area with just 2 tables for 2 or 3 persons.
Parking slots right in front of the resto, could be difficult to get one...

Also they don't use that much batwan, so if you're expecting a really tart taste you'll be...

Every tub is served hot and fresh from the kitchen. Good for sharing 2-4 pax/depending on your appetite. You can also add bone marrow for 70pesos only. Cansi is way too different from other dishes because this dish traditionally makes use of "batuan", a native fruit in western visayas region which adds a rich sour flavor giving it a more...
