Atmosphere The place gives off a very cozy feel, makes you want to curl up on a smoking chair, but then it'd ruin the Irish pub ambiance. In addition to the usual tables and chairs inside, two walls have tall and wide windows with high counter tops and bar stools, perfect place to chill out by oneself or seat next to someone new and break the ice; it's also great to view sports streamed on a TV on the far wall.
Food We just had dinner when we decided to give the place a try. The prices were pretty much reasonable considering the place gives off expensive vibes. We tried their sausage roll to enjoy with our beers. To our surprise, it was good and one could tell they were. prepared and done well. It was served piping hot right out of the oven. We will definitely want to try other dishes.
Service Service was great, this was because there were not that many patrons. This probably explains why we sensed the sausage rolls were done so well. Just hope that their quality wouldn't decline with increased patronage. We were indeed puzzled why the place was almost deserted. Was it because it was located on the second floor? And people didn't trust themselves going down stars after imbibing a few alcoholic beverages?
Another thing observed, they do not serve Irish beer. Nevertheless, place, food, and service - I truly like them,...
Read moreI had the ultimate burger, but found it to the ultimate disappointment. There was no hambuger patty, just a mix of mushy bits of beef cheese and a leaf of lettuce and cucumber. It came with a huge bun that dwarfed everything underneath it. I split it with my driver who said that what he had around lunch time was great. We split a meat lovers pizza. When I picked a piece up off the platter is super hot. The topping was another pile of mush with very little meat and a lot of cheese. It slid off the dough onto the plate. I really couldn't tell much difference between the pizza toppings and what was on the burger. The potato wedges were better but their Heinz Ketchup was very sweet and tasted like Filipino style ketchup, put into a Heinz ketchup bottle. It squirted out the bottle and looked like Heinz but the taste wasn't quite right. I took Beef Stew home with me. The broth taste pretty good. Like an Irish beef stew. The beef was very tuff. The potatos in were totally mushy. My driver told me that he loved the pizza he had around noon time, but he wouldn't touch this. First time not too impressed. Probably won't...
Read moreFibber Magee’s in Dumaguete is hands down one of the best Irish pubs or pubs I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of authentic pub vibes that make you want to stay for hours. Their food is consistently delicious and surprisingly affordable for the quality you get. I especially love their lasagna — rich, cheesy, and perfectly baked every time. The sisig is another favorite, offering a flavorful kick that pairs amazingly with a cold drink, especially with my all the fave smirnoff or tequila sunrise. The staff are incredibly friendly, always ready with a smile, and make you feel right at home. Their service is fast, professional, and very attentive without being overbearing. Whether you're dropping by for a quick bite or a night out with friends, the ambiance is always lively and relaxed. It’s the kind of place where locals and visitors feel equally welcome. Fibber Magee’s has truly mastered the art of good food, great service, and...
