((For full disclosure, me and my wife ate here a couple days ago and are only now reviewing it.)) Stumbling through the seaside streets of El Nido, we looked for a place to eat and we’re greeted by friendly, warm staff at Dayo. The decor was very well put together; minimalist and sleek. For drinks, we got the mango daiquiris, which were 2-for-1 due to happy hour, a very welcome surprise. I must say, I thought the daiquiris were fantastic and refreshing, served with some mango ice slush to help cool off in the warm climate. For food, we ordered the pork sisig and the honey lemon chicken. I thought the sisig was insane, as in insanely good. Probably the best sisig we had in El Nido, and my Filipino wife agrees! The honey lemon chicken, was flavourful and well-cooked. Now, I would be giving Dayo 5-stars, but my wife did have one misgiving. The bathroom, was nasty. There was no toilet paper and no flush. Apart from that, we loved our meal at Dayo, if we were in El Nido again, we’d probably visit a second time.

Food: *Chicken & "waffle" - took a long time to be served. Name should be changed to "Chicken & pancake" instead. Presentation is boring and taste is bland. Pancake batter came out too eggy & soggy. *Crispy Bang Bang Bowl - food didn't came out as presented on the menu. Salmon pieces were burnt. (Not worth the P550.00 price tag) Coffee: *Cafe Americano - wasn't served with milk & sugar on the side. Milk was also charged @ P35.00 without informing us ahead. *Seasalt latte is bland and didn't taste like a seasalt latte should. Cream has a clumpy/grainy texture. Place: Interior is good. Seating capacity is a bit smaller than expected. Toilet: Accessibility - steep & slippery. Needs RENOVATION. Not foreigner friendly in terms of floor-ceiling height. No toilet paper provided as well. Service is slow and a bit unattentive to items being ordered. Disappointing.

I've been wanting to visit this coffee shop because of their Japanese soufflés. I really like how cute and aesthetic the place is; however, it can get a bit hot since it's an open area and there’s no air conditioning. Their Biscoff soufflé is a must-try! It’s incredibly fluffy and delicious, with the Biscoff spread perfectly complementing the soufflé. I also ordered one of their best-selling coffees, the Palawan oat honey, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted. It was my first time trying coffee with honey as a sweetener. The construction happening in front of the shop can be distracting. However, I must say that their “call” button at each table is very convenient, especially since their counter is downstairs and their menu book is on each table already. Over all the place is nice and the staff are nice

We arrived at the cafe and the place was half full so not too busy. We ordered 2 mains, 2 coffees, a bottle of water and we decided to share the pancakes.

My coffee arrived within 5 minutes but no sign of my girlfriends coffee. 15 minutes later my girlfriends food arrived. She ordered the blueberry French toast which wasn’t fully cooked as half of the French toast was still raw dough.

Had to ask a staff member about our water and the other coffee which was then brought down after she had finished the edible parts of her food.

We were sitting for an hour and still no sign of my food which was only a bacon and egg sandwich. Another waitress came upstairs with an eggs Benedict and I overheard the commotion as they had obviously sent up the wrong order. No one even came over to say that there was a mess up with the order which was just shocking customer service.

They then brought out the pancakes after an hour but still no sign of the sandwich. Had to cancel the sandwich in the end up as the service was awful.

Waitress was extremely rude when we were paying with no apologies for the awful service or the lack of communication as to what was happening with the food.

If you want your coffee to arrive after half an hour, your food to arrive after an hour and a complete lack of good service or communication I’d highly recommend...

50% of the menu was unavailable since the blender was not working (which means no fruit bowls or shakes or iced mixed coffees were available) neither any avocado meals. We were informed of this but still decided to stay because we wanted to try the fluffy pancakes. I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon pancakes, and when it was delivered to the table, the waitress dropped the plate which made the eggs fall over the pancakes, break and leak into the table. The waitress just said sorry and immediately left. Without helping to clean or offer any new dish or at least a discount on that one. Not only my food was completely destroyed, but the bacon was super burned (uneditable) and the eggs were undercooked to say the least. When we came to pay, they did not even ask how was the food. The whole service was awful, and it’s really not worth the hype. Save your money and go to...
