easily one of the best places for me in the area i’d gladly recommend to friends. the vibe along with the music, the food, and the location somewhat away from the rest of the restaurants is perfect. though tbh, i’m not sure if i didn’t get to notice lots of establishments in the area apart from the zone because it was raining the time i went with a friend haha. we initially only wanted to chill for 2 hours but ended up there for 4 hours straight.
they have a concentrated food menu, i imagine everything tastes great cause what we already had as it is were very satisfactory: •keso chichirya — i mistakenly read this for chicharon lol, but the potatoes and straciatella cheese combo was good and satisfying •lumpia of banana heart — this is named so specifically hahahah but i appreciate it as i love the veggie used, it comes with vinegar granita and a sweet potato puree •insalada ni cesar — we enjoyed this a lot as we were trying to deconstruct and pin point what makes it so filipino vs the traditional caesar salad hence the name. it’s actually named so cleverly. instead of anchovies, they use dilis in this and a good sauce that somewhat reminded us of buro. •crispy fish sandwich — we added ikura to this, purely optional. it also comes with a side of fried potatoes with a generous sprinkle of seaweed. at the time we ordered, it may just be specifically this batch order (?) but sans the ikura, the fish batter on its own was a bit too salty. it was still good and appreciate that the fish used was firm on the inside coated with the perfect crisp, though when i come back i’m gonna have to try it again just to check. •leche flan soft serve — this tasted more like a good caramel scoop, perfectly creamy with sugar shards and edible flowers. we enjoyed this! •chicken pares — was also good. only got this cause we were served free drinks from bombvinos saturday birthday, as i didn’t wanna run on an empty stomach and drink. it comes with a few pieces of chicken skin, soft boiled egg, pares sauce you can generously drizzle on your plate as you want, and their spicy b! chili garlic and this one does come out with a solid kick! •b!day kalabasa french toast — so since we came through during their celebration, we got this too! it was just the right serving of their soft and good textured toast on a bed of kalabasa puree topped with frozen whip. •but i’m chai — got one of their signature non-alcoholic drinks and from the description on the menu, i was convinced it was gonna be good and it was! tasted smooth with a tea base and reminiscent for me of cherry since they did use singkamas here. •tinto de pacifico — friend ordered this mainly, but was also a good glass of red wine citrusy mix. •bang bang — we also got compli glasses and shots as we were there a while. they really do their drinks well. this one’s their take on the classic weng weng, which brings me back to my college days haha!
later on my friend also got bottles of wines to go. the staff were overall helpful with our queries throughout our stay and very knowledgeable about the natural wines they offer as well as pairings to go with it. they would also ask feedback, which i appreciate. we were by the bar, so we also saw lots of interesting drinks being made that i’ll go back for like the...
Read morepoor experience in this restaurant for my first time eating on the eve of my birthday. had a reservation on 7pm and the restaurant contact said to message if we were running late. but when me and my friend arrived, they gave our table to our another party of 6-7 people just because they were more people. we had already parked at the restaurant at 5:30PM, and the staff saw us, and allowed us to pick a table. if they easily just gave our table to another party without reservation, and without informing us through text, i truly doubt the restaurant’s consideration to customers who reserved days in advance. I do not think I would go to this restaurant again.
Not to mention, the table we ended up getting were very low seats and it was very uncomfortable to eat in. The spot and table given was not suited having a meal. Around 2 hours in, we could not take it anymore, and just went next door to eat. Since it was also quite cold upstairs with the aircon, food arrived cold....
Read moreThis place quickly becomes one of my top resto/wine bar spots! My friends and I spent two back-to-back days here, and every experience did not disappoint. Their take on Filipino cuisine is as innovative as it is delicious. The Beef Salpicao and Chicken Pares with Caramelized Rice are standout choices, and if you’re up for something unique, the Gatas Ice Cream is a must-try. The Caramelized Cornick, Chicharon, and that sneaky Toyomansi (we almost miss it because it’s white—who knew?) are also highlights, with the Burnt Butter Rice being the cherry on top.
Bombvinos' wine selection is fantastic, and if you’re unfamiliar with it like me, their staffs are more than happy to guide you and give their best recommendations. We had two bottles of Rosé and a memorable Orange Wine (the names are a blur, but the flavors are unforgettable!). Huge thanks to Em, Mika, Raven, Christine, and Nguyen for their outstanding service. Will definitely...
