The only good thing I can say about this place is that it has IG-worthy nooks and crannies. Just don’t go to the nasty toilet on the second floor, that had a washing machine, a used towel, several toiletry bottles on the floor…you get the idea.
Service was really bad. Our calamansi drinks came 20 minutes after we ordered. Servers couldn’t take our orders because they had no pen and paper on them. I called a server to order and he went up and down 2 or 3 times, still without the needed pen and paper. Another server came to serve another table and I asked if I could place an order and she told me she couldn’t serve our table because she wasn’t assigned to us. However, she brought our food later and cleared our table after we finished eating.
I called to reserve and was told it was first come-first served yet when I arrived, there was a table with a RESERVED sign on it. I was told that this was to keep small parties from occupying big tables but we were a party of 5. We were seated on the second floor at a table for 4.
When our food finally arrived, the soup that came with my bun cha was cold. My friend asked for an extra chili but it never arrived.
If you’re allergic to smoke, don’t get the tables by the second floor windows because the smoke coming from the balcony drifts into that area.
As for the food, it was just OK. If someone would ask me where to go for Vietnamese food in Makati, this restaurant wouldn’t come recommended. Unless your main concern is to get content...
Read moreHa Noi Pho serves authentic Vietnamese food and is owned by a Vietnamese family. It’s in a 2-story building painted in dark yellow along J.P. Rizal Street in Poblacion, Makati.
Pets are welcome but they’re only allowed on the ground floor.
The menu offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine, such as banh mi, pho, and Vietnamese rolls. My favorite Vietnamese food is from Hanoi, cha ca, which is fatty fish served with vegetables and rice noodles. I thought Ha Noi Pho had it but the only dish on the menu that was closest to it was bun cha, which is pork meatballs with rice noodles. So I ordered it and it turned out to be so delicious that it won the approval of my picky nephew and niece.
The Vietnamese roll was delicious, while the chicken dish was just okay.
But what I liked most at Ha Noi Pho was their coffee; I had the egg coffee and it was fantastic! Just as good as the egg coffee that I had in Hanoi. Before we left, I ordered Salted Coffee to go and it was also very delicious, although not as good as the salt coffee that I had in Da Nang and Hoi An.
You can also buy some Vietnamese products from this restaurant such as 3-in-1 coffee, noodles, chips, etc. You can walk in but they require a reservation for a company of 4 and above. If you want to take away your leftover food, there’s a fee of P10.
So I definitely enjoyed this lunch at Ha Noi Pho. It reminded me so much of Hanoi and I'm glad that we now have a piece of...
Read moreI have a deep appreciation for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, so stumbling upon this gem in Makati was a delightful surprise. Everything, from the meats to the vegetables, tasted wonderfully fresh. The spicy fish sauce and fresh spring rolls were particularly outstanding. I also had the pleasure of trying their grilled skewered meat banh mi, pork BBQ with rice and beef brisket pho, all of which I highly recommend. Each dish was beautifully presented.
Their beverages are outstanding too. My go-to caffeine fixes are the egg coffee and salted milk coffee. While these might sound unusual to the uninitiated, their creamy, sweet, and smooth flavors were simply delicious. To be honest, I'm confident that every item on their menu is a winner, provided it's available.
The restaurant's rustic motif and mustard yellow walls create a charming character and provide a relaxing ambiance. During quieter hours, it's a peaceful escape from the bustling Makati streets, with cooling fans providing relief from the city's heat. Overall, it is a place I wholeheartedly enjoy returning to for its authentic flavors and...
