So i wanted to try this new Thai resto in Poblacion Makati that I saw on a reel in IG. Good thing there was parking (although only for 2 cars). Prior to going there, I communicated with them through their IG chat and requested to reserve a parking space. Ambience was bright, even from outside. Noteworthy was the volume level of the house music - just soft enough to hear and the choice of music was suitable for eating. Not loud, not heavy, nothing too upbeat - which we appreciated. There are a lot of Thailand flags as decor that when I asked my grandson what flag it was during our video call while waiting for the food, he asked, "Are you in Thailand?" ;-) I liked that their menu had pictures AND descriptions of the dishes. I saw "Padanicus Chicken" - I'm guessing that's the derivative, how it became Chicken Pandan. We ordered the GOONG CHAE NAMPLA (raw shrimp in fish sauce) which we will give a 2 thumbs up and 5 stars to because as my Senior Tita said, the shrimps are big and fresh! I like that it came with fresh garlic slices, mint leaves and ampalaya slices. Good combination when dipped in their sauce and the own dip my tita made with the condiments readily available on the table. I had PAD SEE EW TALAY (stir-fried noodels with soy sauce & seafood) 4 stars and 1 thumb up - maybe because compared to Pad Thai, this lacks nuts and green onions although it had a few broccoli leaves. We also ordered the PAD PAK BOONG FAI DAENG (stir-fried Chinese morning glory) because we both always want to have veggies and i remembered this morning glory dish my daughter likes back in Thailand. Since it was her birthday we were celebrating that night, we ordered morning glory with the "Filipino" level of spiciness. In their menu, the legend for Filipino spice level is 1 chili. Thai is 2 chilis. IF no spice, it's Western (zero chili). Yes, its level of spiciness was manageable, palatable - just the right kick. And because my tita wanted to avoid meat or chicken, she ordered the Steamed Fish (lapu-lapu) with Lime and Chilies. Ah, what made her more excited was the availability of sticky rice that was not even on their menu. It came in a cute container that made my tita giddy like a little girl. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. We think the coconut milk with the mango sticky rice had some condensed milk or maybe, it's condensed or sweetened coconut milk. We prefer plain unsweetened coconut milk. But, still good. We suggest and hope they offer other Thai desserts. Another thing my tita liked was the aluminum pitcher and cups they provided for us to drink. As we asked for the bill, I checked the slip and noticed the price of the steamed fish was higher on the bill than the one on the menu. I called the staff's attention to it and after checking, they said it was in their POS (a mistake?) and that they would deduct the difference at the cashier. The items on the slip (order slip or bill ) were NOT handwritten, in fairness to the wait staff. They deducted the price difference and also applied the Senior citizen discount. I am glad my SenioriTa enjoyed and kept expressing her satisfaction (Sarap talaga!). It was a good experience to try other stuff - different from what we usually order in other Thai restos (Pad Thai, Tom Yum). Next time though, I will try their version of Pad Thai and Kao Pad. Real Thai Restaurant has only been operating for a couple of months. I think I did hear a Thai person from their kitchen - which adds to the impression that it's authentic. By the way, there was a guy there who was fixing or adjusting the music/sound. From the socmed posts, I believe he's the guy who performs and his gig starts 9pm. We left around 8:45pm so we weren't able to hear/watch him. If you're thinking of trying Real Thai food, you can pin Leez Inn Makati on Waze coz it's right...

Our excitement for this restaurant quickly deflated when the waiter informed us that 2 out of 3 items we ordered were "not available", the pad see ew and the yum salmon. This annoys me to no end, and should not be acceptable anywhere.
The items we ended up ordering were deep fried tilapia, shrimp pad Thai, and grilled pork jowl. Our favourite was the tilapia; the fish was crunchy but a bit dry, and the dipping sauce was great.
Our second favourite was the pad Thai. It had a lot of flavour, and might be the best pad Thai I've had in Manila. What prevented it from being a favourite is the tofu served in it was rotten, mushy, and gross. We informed the waiter right away, and he said he would check with the kitchen. We kind of ate around it, until he returned 15 mins later with a bowl of fried tofu. He offered to replace the pad Thai as well, but we ate most of it and felt it wasn't necessary.
Our least favourite dish was the grilled pork jowl. It was too lean and dry, and didn't taste freshly grilled. I can't confirm if it was microwaved, but it had that same dryness as if they did. The jaew dipping sauce was pretty good.
Overall, the food was very good, but it's hard to recommend when a big portion of the menu is unavailable and they served rotten food. Hopefully they can get better quality control and sort out their supply...
Read moreThe reviews about the authentic and delicious flavors of Thailand from this small resto are true! This is by far the best Tom Yum soup I’ve had in Metro Manila! I’m so surprised that ALL the 9-10 dishes we ordered were good! I’m all the more surprised that this place which has so many positive reviews only opened about 2 months ago! A true testament to the customers’ satisfaction and delight. We learned that the owner, chef and sous chef are all Thais; no wonder the flavors are so authentic. Some areas for improvement: the time it took to serve the food. We waited for more than half an hour! Apparently, the kitchen staff were overwhelmed by the number of dishes we ordered! This small resto is used to having just small groups (around 2-3 pax) of customers coming at a time. We were 6 and ordered quite a number of dishes. And since it was a Sunday night, some of their specialties were already out bec accdg to them, they had a large volume of customers for lunch. I suppose they are still learning the forecasting of food quantity. It also took them a long time to process the bill because the POS system is new to the reception staff. Parking is limited; just for 2-3 cars. Overall, still a great experience and highly...
