Indigo Restaurant — Restaurant in Malay

We visited this restaurant because it was mentioned on Rough Guides and looked nice, but we should have done better research. We were six people. We love our seafood so admittedly were seeking at special experience but this was a disappointment.

Starters Baked Mussels - ok, but the flavours and textures just didn't work very well Prawn & Ceviche - good Octopus - terribly dry Chowder - the only lovely starter

Mains Red snapper - unfortunately overcooked Crabs - perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned Tuna - overcooked for a dish served medium... Largely because it was left under the lamp for (not kidding) 30mins Prawns - very good

Service - polite but not great. About 1 hr waiting for each plate, which would have been fine, but then plates didn't come out together. They brought us a pinot noir from 2011, so 12 years old when it should have been 2017 (5yrs). Should have known better because the wine did not benefit from all that time on the shelf... but drinkable. And then for the finale... we were told it was too late for dessert, as though we hadn't arrived at 8 and they weren't the ones in control of the service!

Over all overpriced for what you're getting. A bit of a shame. Ate better at...

The food was excellent, but service was painfully awfully unbelievably slow, you might as well serve yourself.

It was hot out. I had to get up and walk over to the bar next door to get some iced water because none came despite three requests and waiting for more than five minutes. The place had three other tables occupied so we did not understand the lack of service.

They cook the food in an open kitchen by the dining room. The Chefs had laid out maybe five plates ready for service but no waiters came to serve them. When the Chef laid out two more plates which I had a hunch were ours, I followed up on our order. The waiter I spoke to disappeared somewhere as the Chef started waving at another waiter pointing at the two plates that should go to our table. I wanted to just get the plates myself.

That said, the mascarpone chicken and truffle risotto and the takeout seafood rice were both very good. We complimented the Chef but could not praise the waitstaff.

Design was nice and could have been relaxing as it was just by the beach. The raucous hosting at the wedding across the hall made it difficult to linger and enjoy the...

We wanted to have an experience we will remeber in Boracay after a Bad dining experience in Jony's and Mayas. We booked the dinner reservation same day here. We ordered the Ribs with aligot and mussels. I forgot what they call the dishes we ordered. The ribs was cooked well, you can tell since the meat comes off from the bone. The mussels was ok, not that amazing for me but it was still good. I guess I was just looking for baked mussels. Haha anyway, we got Kim, serving us and was always available even when you don't ask. You can tell that he is trained to provide good customer experience. The staff there was all smiles and accomodating. I like how they greet and assist you. You feel welcomed. Kim, started up a conversation of how we got there and reason for visiting, long story short, they greeted us with an Anniversary cake. :) Thank you Kim and Discovery shores for turning our day back on track with Happiness and Stress Free night. Talk about a perfect 10 customer...
