What was supposed to be a wonderful vacation has been tainted by a restaurant with no accountability and no commitment to resolving issues with customer service satisfaction in mind.

TL;DR: The cafe/restaurant has a nice ambiance, especially for coffee and breakfast, but dinner service lacks attention to detail. It's important to double-check orders, because they don't seem to have accountability and customer satisfaction appears to be low on their list of priorities when faced with challenges. The food quality was mediocre, with ribs (795php) sauce tasting like canned pork and beans, and the USA beef rib-eye steak (1995php) being overcooked when I asked for a medium rare. Overall, our experience was disappointing, with subpar food and poor service, leaving us feeling let down. Considering the price, it was a total disappointment. Full feedback: We arrived around 2 PM, and our afternoon got off to a great start. However, things took a turn for the worse at the restaurant, prompting me to share this review immediately after we left.

Initially, the service was satisfactory, and we enjoyed our coffee, shakes, beers, cocktails, and fries on the first floor. We even took a seat outside to soak in the beautiful sunset. Despite the delay in taking our order during dinner service, likely due to limited staff, we decided to stick around for dinner.

For dinner, we chose the Tenderloin and Ribs, as recommended by our server. I specifically pointed to these items on the menu as they were listed side by side. Also, I requested mashed potatoes to come with the steak because I had seen it in one of their recent Instagram reels. However, when our food arrived (we moved to the second floor, by the way), no one explained what each dish was, and we were given four sauces that didn't seem to complement our meal. Additionally, the steak had an unexpected taste, as we believe that a perfect steak only needs salt and pepper. Both the steak and mashed potatoes turned out to be overly salty. When I requested mustard to balance the flavors, the male server appeared confused, and I had to ask another female server for it.

No one checked on us to ask about the food, so I had to call another male server about the steak and share our feedback on the taste of the food. We were informed that it had been marinated with Sake and Miso, details not mentioned on the menu for the Tenderloin. There was no apology for the unexpected flavor or the excessive saltiness. Additionally, we had to repeatedly request water refills as there was no proactive effort from the staff to offer them. To be honest, we weren't overly bothered by these minor issues. Despite the taste, we made an effort to finish our meal out of respect for food and because we didn't want to waste anything. We were simply trying to enjoy our holiday time in Boracay.

But the most concerning part was when we received the bill and realized we were charged for a Rib Eye, which was twice the price of what we ordered. I immediately asked for our bill because I am certain that I did not order a Rib Eye. Despite our complaint, neither the staff nor the supervisor seemed to genuinely care. The female server who took our order kept smiling, insisting she repeated our order, which we couldn't recall. Even after the supervisor consulted with the owner, who was seated nearby, they made no attempt to rectify the mistake. It also felt disrespectful to be smiling all the time while we were so dissatisfied about how they're handling our concern.

We settled the bill, nearly 4000 PHP, with only a 15% discount offered. We felt deceived and disappointed by the lack of concern shown by both the staff and management. It was disheartening to see them try to guilt-trip us by suggesting that the discount would be deducted from the server's salary. Place is beachfront and you'll never go wrong unless there's a storm 🤣. You have a good view of the sunset while enjoying your food. Like most establishments on the island, service is raw, they try to be sincere but the service level is low. Never try to sweet-talk well-travelled customers if there ia something wrong. Just apologize for the shortcomings. We asked why our Arugula sandwich doesn't have Arugula AT ALL. And the server is insisting that it has Arugula even after we told her that there's none. Here comes the kitchen staff telling us they ran out of Arugula and they just replaced it with plain lettuce. 🤣🥳 We were generous with suggestions because we are definitely coming back. When we say something about the panacotta just take note of the suggestion because maybe we are right ( which we sure are). Menu theory is very important especially for people like me, who have so many food allergies and are very careful with what we eat - we ask too many questions and should not be an irritant. It should be very easy if you know what is in the dishes you're serving rather than make a face which is too obvious for us not to notice. You don't know what is in the dish - you make an irritated face 😔 The coffee is good. The pita is just the way we like it and not too dry. I like the way you ask ahead for the sugar level of our drinks which is lacking in other restaurants here. I recently visited Smooth Cafe in Boracay, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the warm and friendly staff. They made me feel welcome and ensured that my visit was memorable.

The cafe itself is situated right on the beachfront, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. It's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the serene surroundings. The combination of the Red Velvet cake and Spanish Latte was absolutely divine. The rich flavors of the cake perfectly complemented the smooth and velvety latte. It was a match made in heaven for my taste buds!

One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the quality of the music playing in the cafe. The selection was varied and created a soothing ambiance. It enhanced the overall experience and added to the relaxed atmosphere of the place.

One of the standout features of Smooth Cafe is their use of Starlink as their internet service provider. The internet speed was remarkably fast, allowing me to stay connected and browse the web without any interruptions. This was a major plus for someone like me who likes to stay connected even while on vacation.

Overall, my visit to Smooth Cafe in Boracay was truly exceptional. The combination of delicious food and beverages, stunning beachfront view, friendly staff, and reliable internet service made it a memorable experience.
