The Sunny Side Chorizo Burger
Our take on boracay's famous "chori-burgers". House-made spicy chorizo with pepper jelly, and served with our barbeque sauce on a brioche bun
Plant-Based Chorizo Burger
The island's first and only vegan-friendly "chori-burger"! This is a completely plant-based version of the sunny side chori-burger and captures the boracay vibe without any meat
New: Corned Beef Sandwich With Batwan Gravy
House-made corned beef slices in ciabatta, topped with sauerkraut and batwan gravy for a little zing
Shrimp Roll
The ultimate beach-side sandwich: delish shrimp mixed with mango, ebiko, and japanese mayo in a soft bun.
Kitayama Wagyu Beef Burger
We use kitayama wagyu beef from cattle raised locally in bukidnon. We serve the burger with mozzarella, cheddar, caramelized onions, greens, and a sunny side up egg on a brioche bun

My friends and I wanted to eat here before we walked over to go parasailing. There's downstairs and upstairs seating. We were directed to go upstairs to be seated. We wanted to sit by the window, so we let a server know that after the group was done that we'd like to enjoy the view of the beach. He reassured us that we could sit there once they were done cleaning the table. However, as they were cleaning, other patrons decided to claim the seats and tables before they could finish. That let alone, was a bad first impression for all of us. The servers didn't do anything to change the situation. So we digressed. But it's okay, at least the bathrooms are clean and have toilet paper. There's also an automatic 5% service charge added to bill.

But let's move onto the food, we ordered different savory meals for ourselves, but we also wanted to do two sweet breakfast items to share amongst the 6 of us. My husband and I shared the Aburi Aligot Corned Beef, but what we really wanted was the Kitayama Beef Tapsilog. However, they had said they ran out .. this was during opening hour on a Saturday morning. I felt bad cause I didn't realize that the dish was going to be as cheesy as it is since my husband is lactose intolerant. I probably would've ordered something else. My cousin and her husband ordered the Breakfast Okonomiyaki and the Chorizo and Eggs. They also said they ran out of the brown sauce that it's drizzled with, which definitely did not help the taste of the dish. My other friend ordered the Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese Sandwich. My other bestie and her fiance ordered the Beef Burger and the Mushroom & Egg Toast. When they served my bestie, she just gave her dish as an Egg Toast and she was confused. Turns out, they forgot to top it with mushroom. For our dessert breakfast type choices (if you know, you know), we ordered the popular Ube and Cereal Milk Pancakes and the Honey Butter French Toast. But honestly, we all preferred the french toast to the pancakes because the French Toast had a nice crispy outer later. It came with a split banana and some kind of ube cream, which was perfect with each bite. For drinks, my friend ordered the Heirloom Iced Horchata and the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The Iced Coffee did not taste like Vietnamese Iced Coffee at all. The Horchata was interesting .. I really enjoyed the drink I ordered, which was the All The Way juice drink. It had pineapple, lychee, calamansi, and mint. It was super refreshing!

The service was definitely spotty. They ran out of several items during opening. They were giving incomplete dishes. They weren't as friendly as other places we've gone to or apologetic at all. It wasn't anything memorable or great, so it definitely should be worked on. What really saves them is that french toast and those pancakes - and that gorgeous...

Writing a review for the two separate Boracay trips we’ve had this year (August and November).

First off, let’s start by stating the obvious. The best thing about the Sunny Side Cafe in Station 1 is the view. The cafe’s interior design and its location is what mainly powers its “instagram-worthiness”.

The food is also good, but is a bit overpriced. My favorite menu items here are probably the Bacon Slab and Eggs and maybe the Kitayama Beef Tapsilog.

While delicious, consistency is a bit of a problem. In one instance the food would be great and would be bland the next time. Again, all in all the food is good but is a bit overpriced.

Avoid ordering their burgers or anything with bread as the bread seems old. We ordered their Chori burger which speaks of a “brioche bun”, but there was nothing “brioche” about the buns we got as seen in the photos I attached. The patty itself, while flavorful, was also very dry.

But the main issue I have with this branch however, is the service. Servers don’t seem happy to serve you at all. Not sure if they’re understaffed or what, but you don’t get that warm and helpful reception you’d expect from a restaurant within this price range.

There was even one instance that, the server failed to inform us that the “Carbonara with Sesame Egg” we ordered, ran out of the Sesame Egg. She told us after having us wait for a long time, and basically said that either we accept the order without the “Sesame Egg” or have it replaced with a normal egg, all while paying the same price. I mean, what the f*? In the end, I had to complain to the manager and was simply given a discount for the missing “egg”. But again, only after I got angry and stressed.

All in all, the place is beautiful and can be very instagram-worthy. The food is great, but can be inconsistent. But the service really sucks,...

We tried their breakfast for the first time on our recent visit to Boracay. The last time we were here in 2022, the restaurant was still under construction, so my wife was especially eager to finally experience it.

If you’re coming from Stations 2 or 3, the easiest way to reach the restaurant is by taking an e-bike ride along Boracay Highway Central toward Station 1. You’ll find their entrance conveniently located along the highway.

They don’t accept reservations, so we arrived early to secure seating for our group of eight. Fortunately, we were warmly welcomed by the attentive staff, who helped us find a table right away.

For our meal, we tried the Kitayama Wagyu Beef Tapsilog. The portion was generous—enough for two—with just an extra serving of garlic rice. Others in our group had the Bacon Slab and Eggs, Bacon Slab with Brioche Toast, Brioche and Butter, and the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich. The tapsilog was nicely tender and flavorful, though we found it slightly too rich. We also ordered a hot chocolate, which was beautifully presented, but we found it a bit too thick. Perhaps next time, we’ll mix in the cream while it’s still hot to balance the texture.

The bacon slab dishes were on the fatty side, but still juicy and tender. We also tried their Banana Shake, which was refreshing and tasted delightfully fresh.

In terms of pricing, it may be on the higher side, but considering the beachfront location at Station 1 and the generous servings, we found it reasonable.

The atmosphere is one of the restaurant’s highlights. From your seat, you’ll enjoy an unobstructed view of the white beach, with the famed Grotto nearby. It’s easy to soak in the island’s beauty while you dine, and a post-meal dip is...

If you’re in Boracay?? You HAVE to eat at The Sunny Side Café! Trust me, this is one of those places that actually lives up to the hype. 10/10 food, drinks, view—everything! Let me show you why… One of the first things on our Boracay food bucket list was The Sunny Side Café in Station 1, and I’m SO glad we made it happen. We went early—around 7AM—and snagged a window seat. Highly recommend doing the same! The morning sun, the calm ocean waves, and that warm tropical vibe? Absolutely breathtaking. This place fills up fast for a reason! Now let’s talk FOOD. I had their Sunny Side Chorizo Burger—and wow. Just wow. It’s got that juicy, longganisa-style patty with a spicy kick, paired with pepper jelly that takes it to another level. Sweet and spicy? Match made in heaven. I even added the crispy kamote thins for texture—crunchy, sweet, salty… it’s the perfect bite! And that brioche bun? Lightly toasted, still soft, everything holding together like a dream. 10/10, no crumbs left! For the drink, I went with their signature “All The Way”—a tropical blend of pineapple, lychee, calamansi, and mint. So refreshing! Not too sweet, not too sour—just the right kind of zingy, cool drink to go with that ocean view. My friend ordered their Breakfast Okonomiyaki, and she said it was such a hearty and flavorful breakfast! She paired it with a classic watermelon shake, and it was the perfect combo for a sunny morning by the beach. The food? Delicious. The drinks? So refreshing. The ambiance? A whole vibe. We both genuinely loved our time there, and I know you will too. So if you find yourself in Boracay, do yourself a favor and eat at The Sunny Side Café. Come for the food, stay for the view—you won’t regret it!
