The Shore Time is a quaint hotel in Station 1 of Boracy. Upon first glance, it might seem fairly unimpressive. The street around the hotel is busy and underdeveloped, with construction happening. The outside sidewalk area is not great and you need to cross the street and through a restaurant to get to the beach. Those are the negatives, but the positives far outweigh them. The room is fairly quiet and very clean. The rooms are not huge, but adequately sized with a comfortable bed and bathroom area. The staff are very accommodating and quick to help guests. The beach area that's minutes away is stunning with fine, powder-like sand. It' relatively quiet and clean. There are not vendors harassing and trying to sell things to you, except an occasional boat ride. The water is clear and you can wade out very far without it getting deep. The hotel is very reasonably priced and there are many nearby restaurants and a coffee shop that's attached to the hotel. The breakfast offered is made to order with many options as well. Other than the town infrastructure that's in process, the only thing I'd recommend is improving the atmosphere of the area just in front of the restaurant of the hotel. If they keep the music softer and put some comfortable deck chairs with umbrellas for guests, it would be great. I know the space they can do this is limited by the authorities, but some improvements could be made to make it more comfortable. They also offer beach towels free of charge and a shuttle to the port for transport across to the mainland (they do charge for the shuttle). Laundry is available for very reasonable cost as well and they include a safe for valuables. The room air conditioning works well. I would...
Read moreI joined the annual tradition of Ateneo de Manila University fresh graduates to go to Boracay called "Ateneo de Bora." I slept for 2 nights in another location (Friendz Resort Boracay) since my friends didn't arrive yet and I came earlier.||||Upon arrival to the Shores, I went to the reception area where I was greeted by a staff member and I said I was in Room Number 6 with my friend and I was immediately escorted there. I actually didn't interact with the staff so much as I was barely in the room and went elsewhere to spend my (non-sleeping) siesta time and eat meals.||||The room wasn't exactly the cleanest but it had that old homey, guesthouse feel to it but could be cleaner. The airconditioning was ok but after a while, with 4 people in it, it was insufficient to cool us all (except for the bed that was directly in front of the airconditioner. There was Wi-Fi, which fluctuated at times but was generally reliable. The one thing I don't like about the location is that it isn't a beach front spot but instead in front of the main road of Boracay (Boracay Highway Central/Boracay Tambisaan Jetty Port Road) and the vehicles passing can be quite a disturbance. To be fair, the noise was usually in the afternoon, when I was barely there and took a 2 hour nap.||||Overall, the place was satisfactory given its Wi-Fi access (not all places offer the service, and you'd have to pay, if they do, sometimes), location - Station 1, where the party we went to was just 5 minutes away, and behind Sea Wind Resort (which, by the way, has a great breakfast buffet...
Read moreI had difficulty booking an Agoda room that can accommodate 5 that is reasonable and at the same time luxurious and proper. After staying at Fairways Bluewater, and then Paradise Garden, I wanted a place that is comparable to the previous but still comfortable, & w/o buffet breakfast as we're flying out early. This hotel exceded what I am hoping. As you enter the lobby entrance, it was cool and smells great, immediately puting you at ease; the welcoming cold drink was a bonus. Checkin was quick and painless. Upon enetring the penthouse, we were greeted with a nice smell. Agoda pictures did not do justice to the room: there's an actual loft with its own veranda and smart tv, same as the room. Only minor issue, there's only 1 teenie T&B. Dental sets, shampoos, soaps, towels, wash towel, beach towels, complimentary water were provided. Hanging racks on both verandas. You need to cross the main road to access the beach (Station 1). This part of rhe beach is never busy, you will share it with few passerby. At the groundfloor, there's a contiguous access to Andok's and also a coffee shop that's open 24 hours so very convenient. A store nearby for water, snacks, and little things but prices jacked up so better buy at budget mart. Trike to D'Mall if you don't want to walk at the main strèet would take about 7min but if through the beach you wont notice the time. I'll definitely reconsider...
