During our visit on May 28, we ordered the Lamb Biryani and Chicken Biryani. While both dishes were flavourful, they were a bit too salty for our taste. Having lived in Singapore for 24 years, my taste buds might be acclimated to the local flavour profile, but the saltiness stood out more than expected.
The portions were generous, so much so that my wife and I couldn’t finish our meals. The lamb biryani, which we ordered at the highest spice level, was particularly noteworthy. It exceeded my spice tolerance, but in a pleasantly surprising way—I loved the intensity.
In terms of taste, the biryanis didn’t quite match the savory flavors I’m accustomed to in Singapore. It felt like something was missing, although the overall experience wasn’t bad aside from the saltiness.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress ensured our water glasses were always full, and the staff were both courteous and attentive.
The ambiance could use some improvement, particularly with the air conditioner, which looked old and detracted from the overall atmosphere.
Follow-up review on the taste: I have confirmed that the dishes we ordered were authentic Indian recipes. I’m more familiar with the Malaysian/Singaporean version, which I only realized after trying the authentic Indian biryani in Singapore. While I personally prefer the Malaysian/Singaporean version, Annapoorna’s biryani is the best authentic Indian biryani...
Read moreThis wonderful and authentic Indian restaurant has an extensive menu for Indian and International items. I will speak about the service first because it is very important for me.The service is fantastic with servers who are polite and efficient with everything they do. The restaurant owners will customize seating etc. based on your preference. Great experience there!!
This place is so good, that I've been there eight times already in under a month. Each time we go, we always order the different assortments of meat, vegetarian dishes ; Each dish is seasoned with it's own spices and herbs which comes out smelling savory and appetizing, unlike other places that use the same seasoning for all dishes.
The different kind of kababs are one of my favourites. The kababs are seasoned with a spicy seasoning and done just right, with a bit soft, tender and the meat juicy which makes for a heavenly delight. The glazed mutton and chicken are also very delectable and mouthwatering. All the flavor is kept in while grilling and goes well with a cold drink. One of my new favorites is the mutton dosa and mutton curry. Absolutely mind blowing!! If you don't believe me.. just go out and try it and I am 100% sure that you would love it.
The prices are extremely reasonable and I repeat extremely reasonable compared to similar places in across Manila and in fact relatively...
Read moreAnnapoora in an Indian cuisine restaurant tucked away within Gateway Regency. From the outside there no signage, unless you enter the tower. It's location is likely owing to the Accenture offices in the Cybergate towers, and the large no. of Indian people.
In addition to Indian food, there is some other Asian cuisine available as well. They also offer packed daily meal services at a nominal rate of P200.
Indoor seating has 12 tables, and 4 outdoors. There are 2 types of indoor seating, the sofa style tables for 4, and the regular individual chair tables for 4. Beer and other drinks are also served.
Our order for two included 2 plain dosas, 1 Paneer Tikka starter, and 2 yogurt based drinks. Including a service charger it came to about P1200. No cheap, but given that it's Indian food, it's expected.
Service was good, and the food arrived quickly. The lady serving us was efficient, belpful and cheerful. The place was well lit and clean. Not sure how it is when busy, but on the Friday evening we visited the ambiance was okay.
Taste of food was good, and I will likely go back to try out other dishes. If Yoyre in the Pioneer area and want Indian food, Annapoorna is a...
