Max’s Restaurant’s beginnings started in 1945, after World War II. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford –educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo’s nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for their drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a café where the troops could enjoy food and drinks.

The café initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo’s niece – Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for the GIs. Soon, the Filipino public heard about the delicious chicken – tender, juicy and crispy – and they came too! Max’s Restaurant was born.

Over the years, Max’s Restaurant’s popularity grew and became known as “the house that fried chicken built”. It has expanded in Metro Manila, Southern and Northern Luzon, Cebu and California, USA.

Looking towards the next millennium, Max’s Restaurant has established itself as a household name, an institution, and a proud Filipino tradition. The second and third generations of the family continue to zealously uphold the standards and traditions set by Maximo and ruby for all Max’s...

Good looking place that is clean, that's it. Friend's food was good, mine wasn't. Just few cube pieces of not even pure beef does not count for me. The place is too cold since the AC is on max and waitress is lost when trying to slow the fan on AC. Overemployed with staff that does not bring drinks or already servable soup is a bright negative. Poor english overall. Prices are normal. Don't...

Your favorite Max's treats packaged with great customer service. The service crew here is helpful with a hint of Filipino wit and friendliness (which is how we like em), service is fast and efficient.

Don't hesitate to ask for recommendations from the waiters, they seem to know their stuff.

Opens early in the morning, have gotten the chance to get breakfast here before going...

been years since the last i had max’s so i was excited when we had it. sadly, it was no longwr how i remembered it. it’s nice that they now have those ‘meal’ choices and some add-ons but quality and taste wise is still good but no longer the best. fries is cold. fried chicken thankfully is nice and juicy lumpiang shanghai doesn’t taste nice. pancit and tofu sisig is average ice scramble is good.

Max's Restaurant located inside the Walled City of Manila, Intramuros. The resto was quiet and has a peaceful ambiance. The place was accessible and nearby at the Manila Cathedral. The food here may not good for barkada because the serving and type of food here is for classic one. I love their rice bowl meal especially the Sizzling Tofu.
