The Great Buddha Cafe is situated on the 2nd floor above the main Eng Bee Tin branch. The cafe space, although wide and spacious, looks uninspired save for the moon cake shaped lights above and the prominent buddha statue in the floor center.

On peak hours, expect to wait for a considerable amount of time (around 30 minutes minimum) before you can be seated. Given the amount of people during our visit, I anticipated that food quality and service would be compromised but I was proven wrong on the former. The food did not disappoint! The xiao long bao and lumpiang shanghai tasted good, fresh, and most importantly, not oily. The stir fry asado noodles was the star though. It is an absolute must try as it received nods of approval from my entire friend group.

The only letdown during our visit was the service since we ended up serving ourselves water despite continuous requests from various waiters and waiting for 25+ minutes. It is understandable though given the amount of people they had to attend to. Overall, a nice restaurant to fill your hunger after shopping for goodies on the lower floor. (Note: Although they prohibit you from eating outside food, they allow Eng Bee...

I had been here for twice and had terrible experience for both instances. At first instance, I ordered siomai and fried noodle. Siomai arrived but waited for almost 1 hour for the fried noodle. Our 3rd follow up is the only time they informed us that certain ingredients are not available. Imagine, 1 hour to inform us that the order is not available!

For second encounter here, we waited at entrance and signaled staffs for assistance as we are about to dine in (as we all know, a staff is stationed at entrance at a normal restaurant) and no staffs assisted us despite apparently visible that they are just chitchatting in counter and there are only less customers available at that time. We initiated to enter their restaurant and took seat, but still no one assisted us even just giving us the menu. We ended up leaving without ordering because their service is absolute rubbish and the staffs are so lazy.

I will never recommend this store as their services are below bare minimum that you can’t even place an order properly. It’s as if the management or staffs won’t welcome...

My first time in Great Buddha Cafe because of Chinese New Year Celebration in Binondo lucky chinatown.

The restaurant was very busy due to high volume of customers inside and outside waiting on the available table.

The food was really authentic chinese cuisine and very delicious. The staff are well accomodating. We ordered Braised Beef noodles, Shrimp Hakaw, Pork ribs glazed with honey garlic sauce, Shrimp wanton noodles, Yangchow friedrice and the delicious Mango Shake. We only had 1 problem in 1 of our order that we decided to cancel the Black pepper beef as per the server who took our orders they was not able to include it in our order.

My suggestion is for them to have available hook under each table where we can hang our things especially plastic bags that we bought outside.

Also they should expect that since that day celebrate the chinese new year there will be a high volume of customer that will visit their restaurant and that they should have enough stocks. Gladly we were able to order the Shrimp Hakaw because their Xiao long bao was not...

The restaurant is in the first floor of Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli. You need to climb the stairs on the left after the entrance. We came on a Friday afternoon time and there was no waiting. The order was served after some time around 30-40 minutes which we used to buy some take aways downstairs. The dumplings was served first then the rest of the main entrees but unfortunately the shrimp and wanton soup came very late and last, which is really odd and disappointing as we expect the soup to be served first. It took us 3 times to follow up our soup which came around after 1 hour… seriously for a soup of shrimp and wanton? All the food are tasty and the pork and beef meat are tender and juicy. The noodles are cooked bouncy and chewy with generous amount of meat. Definitely will come back again and is highly recommended place to eat Chinese dishes in Binondo as the price are very reasonable with its servings. My only issue in this place are the stairs going to the restaurant and the washroom. Not good for older customers or PWD friendly.
