Red House Shabu Shabu offers a solid hotpot experience with good-quality ingredients, making it a reliable choice for hotpot lovers in Alabang. Located in Riverside Park across Festival Mall, the restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with sufficient air conditioning that ensures a comfortable dining experience.
Food & Ingredients
The quality of the hotpot ingredients is generally good, with fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables that meet expectations for a proper shabu-shabu experience. However, the selection for the dipping sauce station feels limited, especially when compared to Zhen Bao in Ayala Malls Manila Bay and Wow Cow inside Festival Mall, both of which offer a wider variety of condiments and sauces that allow for more customization.
The mala broth, while delivering spiciness, lacks the signature numbing effect that defines an exceptionally well-balanced mala broth. The absence of this key characteristic may leave those who appreciate authentic Sichuan-style mala a bit underwhelmed.
Service & Ambiance
The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, but service leaves room for improvement. While the waitstaff are generally attentive, they were talking loudly about personal matters, which could be overheard by diners. This takes away from the dining experience, as guests expect a more professional and attentive service environment.
Overall Impression
Red House Shabu Shabu is a decent hotpot choice in Alabang with good ingredients and a comfortable setting, but falls short in sauce variety and the authenticity of its mala broth. The service could also be improved with better training in maintaining a more professional atmosphere.
Do I consider it as one of the best in metro manila? Definitely not, as it has room for improvement, but it's...
Read moreWent there for their hotpot but we opted for Malatang instead.
Ingredient options were few but the quality is top notch. Our fave was the big disc shaped one. Which we had no idea what it was. This is the only thing I did not like. The ingredients were not all labeled. So we just guessed and hoped we would like it. Even their sauce bar had no labels. Had to ask a few times for clarification.
Their Malatang soup was delicious and just right. I chose the Mild option since I can just add chilis to my dipping sauce if I wanted a spicier taste.
If you have a low tolerance for heat then I suggest going for Mild. My friends chose 1 and the heat builds up after a few bites.
A little reminder tho, be careful of what you pick for your Malatang since you pay per gram.
They have a 300grams minimum and meat is an additional cost. Your P450 bowl could easily cost double if you decide to pile up on the...
Read moreHonest review✍️ Got the RH SET B for only 1,800 good for 3 pax and mom and I are really full after eating it. It’s so generous. One of the things I loved about them is their Shabu-Shabu sauce. Savoury yet tangy taste to it. You can mix & match a range of different ingredients to the ideal sauce of your liking. Then did our drinks we got special fruit shakes like strawberry 🍓 banana 🍌 and mango 🥭 banana. It’s so refreshing and perfect while eating shabu-shabu and last but not the least they have good desserts too. Coffee jelly is 30 pesos and soft served Korean 🍦 ice cream is 50 pesos only. Really affordable. For the service their staffs up to the manager was very hands on and accommodating. They were all nice 😊 and place was very spacious and they have a big place where you can held your events too. The best Taiwanese hotpot I...
