Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Muntinlupa

Disgustingly Unhygienic Generally Shakey’s restaurants are quite nice fast food places – well you know what to expect there as they are generic and consistent, but I would advise you to seriously avoid the branch located on the 2nd floor of Festival Mall in Alabang after what I witnessed. Because the Philippines is still a 3rd world country existing at best in the 19th Century, they don’t have wireless remote credit card payment devices so I had to go to the serving counter to process my payment. While waiting for their machine to attempt to connect to a 21st century internet using a steam powered payment machine I had the misfortune to see one of the staff ‘prepare’ some food. First she was putting the topping on a pizza, she wore no plastic gloves, she began by wiping her sweaty face with her palm, then plunged the same hand into a container of minced meat and literally threw chunks of the rotting carcass on top of the pizza, next plunging the same hand into other containers of various vegetables; onions, peppers, tomatoes etc and chucking them on top. Pausing only to wipe that hand on her dirty overalls, she picked up a knife, grabbed a slab of meat and cut it on a chopping board that was already covered with food residue. After she’s thrown bits of that on the pizza she then picked up some seafood – shrimp I think – placed that on the same chopping board and cut it up using the same knife. These pieces of rotting animal were then added to the rest of the pizza topping. She wiped both hands on her overalls, rubbed her palms across her sweaty forehead and proceeded to the next pizza preparation. I cannot say just how many laws of basic hygiene she broke nor how many possible bacterial food infections the poor recipients of that disgusting pizza were likely to contract, but I and my family for sure will never visit that appalling Shakey’s again – so, you have...

The best Shakey’s branch I have visited so far.

Shakey’s has always been to date my number one pizza parlor, with their this crust hand-pulled pizza crust being their masterpiece.

You have got to try their Super Bunch of Lunch which is just your Regular Bunch of Lunch but with added Soup of the day and Salad greens.

I like their Chicken and Corn Soup and I basically devoured their Salad Greens in a few chomps.

The Bunch of Lunch need no explanation as its quality has garnered its longevity in their menu. Freshly cooked. Hot and fresh.

Their Strawberry Cheesecake Pizza dessert is just perfect! I rarely eat large servings of desserts by myself, but I finished them off without blinking. It is that great!

But the Best part of my experience here is the staff service.

One thing unique, and which I commend Shakey’s with is their inclusivity. Their greeter and table presenter is a PWD guy who has down syndrome. This is really a great way of showing the public that being a PWD doesn’t mean they cannot function effectively and properly and I observed that here with this nice and professional PWD staff performing a special task for their team.

We went here for lunch and everything went smoothly. We also felt safe dining here. Like with others establishment in Festival Mall, we were required to fill out a form. They checked our temperatures. We maintained physical distancing and mostly, only two people were sharing a table but still almost all tables are filled up. All utensils were sanitized and sealed. We asked for disposables since we felt comfortable using it, but they only have spork at the moment. All staff were wearing face mask and face shield too.

We ordered original bunch of lunch (2 slices of delicious hawaiian pizza 🍕 , soft garlic bread, 2 of their famous mojos, crispy chicken and spaghetti 🍝 ). But they gave us super bunch of lunch, a mistake while entering our order in the system.
