Ambiance: Average The restaurant, with its unremarkable exterior, offered an interior that was clean and functional, though nothing extraordinary. It provided a basic level of comfort suitable for casual dining.
Mango Shake: Below Average The mango shake was a disappointing start. It lacked the vibrant, tropical flavor expected from a mango-based beverage, resulting in a rather bland and forgettable experience.
Chicken Satay: Below Average The Chicken Satay, which should have been a highlight, fell short. It lacked the aromatic spices and the zest that characterizes authentic satay, leaving a lot to be desired in terms of flavor and overall enjoyment.
Beef Curry: Poor A major letdown of the meal was the Beef Curry. The meat was tough and the curry itself was devoid of the rich, aromatic flavors one would anticipate. This dish significantly detracted from the overall dining experience.
Nasi Goreng: Poor Similarly, the Nasi Goreng failed to deliver. Known for its flavorful and savory profile, this dish was unexpectedly bland and uninspiring, lacking the essential spice and vibrancy it traditionally boasts.
Overall Experience: Below Average and Overpriced The overall dining experience at this restaurant was decidedly below average. Not only were the dishes ranging from mediocre to poor in quality, but the high prices made the experience even less satisfying. The considerable disparity between the cost and the quality of food significantly impacted the dining experience, leaving a feeling of disappointment. This visit highlighted that high prices and average ambiance do not compensate for subpar culinary offerings, resulting in a dining venture that fell short of expectations in both...

my bf and i are tourists of indo-malay background so we can wholeheartedly vouch that it tastes nothing like the food back home. would be willing to give grace for that if;
the service as many have mentioned in their reviews. lots of workers but lack of passion to work. it seems as though they hate their job. my bf had to walk up to them to place our orders and to pay when everyone else was being served just fine. mind you, there were only 2 other tables at the time. on top of that they tried to charge us for a pitcher which we did not order, thankfully we throughly read through the receipt before paying so they corrected it.
atmosphere it is an enclosed restaurant so to see that many flies was appalling. it definitely makes u think twice about eating here especially if we had known. immediately upon setting my drink down, a fly flew into it and got stuck swimming in the juice so that was a waste 😭
sad to write this review expecting at least 1 out of 3 things to be decent as we were excited upon hearing that there was indo-malay cuisine. the roti and curry was probably the only decent thing that i don’t believe you could go wrong with. dont bother with the kuey teow or nasi goreng tho and keep in mind that you will have uninvited company (the flies) if you want to eat here. wasted about 1500~php but went home with the experience i guess? if you really want to try authentic tasting malaysian food i highly recommend looking to eat at mamak kopitiam (the one i went to was at...
Read moreDined at Martabak- SM MOA last March 8. Before I would just pass by in front of this restaurant on the way to the side entrance of the Hypermarket. There are rows of food establishments at that side of MOA's main mall area offering local and international cuisine yet Martabak has a distinction of its own as a halal restaurant with Indo-Malay food on its menu.
Ambience is nice with gamelan music. Service is friendly yet there were times that seemed slow like when I asked the waiter for the bill and he approached the cashier but I didn't know if he had "lutang" moment then as he didn't hand me the bill and just proceeded to the kitchen. It took so long until another waitress gave me the bill before attending to another customer's orders.
As for the food, it was my first time to eat Indonesian meal: I ordered solo meal satay ayam with nasi rice, fried egg, and fish kropeck. It looked and tasted more like a breakfast special with free soup. The skewered chicken meat was tender with savory peanut sauce. As for dessert, I had choco-banana crepe ala mode: soft, fluffy crepe with generous banana slices for fillings sprinkled with chocolate and topped with vanilla ice cream. Satisfying dine in experience. I even had a take out order of healthy gado gado or Indonesian salad with lots of peanut sauce and it makes 2 to 3 servings. Food prices are okay and I would like to try the other available food on their menu on...
