We privately hire this restaurant for our charity mission of ASK Foundation and Operation Restore Hope that operate and help all these poor children that have cleft & palate problems. Anyway, we are all 43 people from Australia, Germany, New Zealand and Philippines comprises of surgeons, dentist, anaesthetists, volunteers and donors. The food was good, the service was good but... I got the most shocking experience in my whole life because my bag was taken in this restaurant while we have speeches & taking photos of the whole group. There's no other outside customer as the restaurant was hired specially for our group. I went to toilet and then went to the table and left my bag on the chair as people called me for picture taking. The only thing left for me that I am holding was my cell phone because one of the doctor asked me to send him the photos of patients. And when our program was finished when everyone going out already one of the staff was wearing a mask 😷 and looking around at our bags. One of our companion said, she saw the waiter looking at the bag of her boss and warned him not to touch her bag. Anyway, when I came to my chair my own bag was gone. Beware of this restaurant. I lost my Australian passport, 2 Debit cards & 2 Visa credit cards, money, eye glasses, my cross pendant etc. We talked to the manager, and asked if we can see the footage from their CCTV and he said at first it is focused on other side not on our table and then he said, it is not functioning and in repair. I put a complaint to the police and SM Management but did not press anymore investigation or charges because it will only be a waste of time and I have to go back to Australia. I pray for the manager and staff of this Basil Restaurant and I hope they cannot do it again to other people. Beware of this people. They do not care about their customers. I want the owner of this restaurant to know that his/her staff are not honest people....
Read moreI understand the rush of the weekend, but most of the restaurants were brimming with people, and Basil didn't have much. I am just wondering how my order took AN HOUR to arrive, plus, it didn't come altogether. It was coming one at a time, and it felt like whatever I ordered an hour before was actually not prepared straight away. Aside from the lengthy wait, I am apalled by the portion sizes. Authentic Thai food is usually served in generous portions, and the food I was served here was definitely not. We were told the Shrimp Fried Rice was good for two, but honestly, it was good for two toddlers, with only four little pieces of shrimps. The Emerald Chicken, each chicken piece was smaller than the spoon! The Stir Fried Vegetables? It was mostly egg. And finally, I ordered for two Pad Thais, one with shrimp and one without. I ended up getting only one. What's more frustrating, the price point is expensive as compared to the quality and the portion sizes of the food we were served. For a hungry and tired customer like me, who has traveled all the way from abroad to have a proper dinner here, I AM UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED. Never coming back to this restaurant again. See photos for reference of the...
Read moreThe food was good but the service sucks! We decided to have our Mother's Day dinner at Basil MOA earlier. We requested to be seated in the table at the right side of the restaurant entrance but the waiter was so firmon telling us that we can't be transferred and per verbatim.. "hindi pwede masikip!"onlyto find out 10mins after that the shift manager was able to have a group of 7 people seated at the same place. The staff were also not courteous and customer friendly except for the guy in striped polo who I presume to be the manager. Since it was Mother's Day, a lot of customers still continue coming in but this same waiter approached them asap and told them that restaurant is already closed. It was just 9pm and closing should happen at 10pm. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to go home. One of the waitress is even putting makeup in the cashier's area. Sayang because the fiod really...
