Wow Cow Hot Pot @ SM By the Bay — Restaurant in Pasay

Good cuts of meat. Great variety of hot pot soup base too. But you have to pay additional 78/head to have access to their sauce bar. At 999/pax you’d expect a bit of side dish but they only have kimchi and garlic. You get a round of juice pitcher and that’s about it.

Waiter attentiveness is non existent when you opt to seat at their al fresco dining. We have to wait for almost an hour to finally get eating since every little thing or request takes about 15mins to get attended to. They serve the hotpot and grill apparatus on your table but you have to follow up 3x for the meat to be served. They didn’t give us any basic sauce or even the laddle for the hotpot, you have to call out the waiters again. I think the waiters tend to avoid eye contact intentionally since we mostly ended up going inside to ask personally for the things we need. Utensils aren’t provided unless you ask for it. Ice and other condiments must be requested too. When we ask for a change of grill plate, we had to ask about 4x before it was attended to since all the servers were “busy” not making eye contact.

I had to give it to them since its NYE, but it’s not an excuse given they have ample time to prepare for this occasion. All the waiting almost ruined our new year’s celebration since it’s already 30 mins to New year and we still haven’t eaten properly. We were seated around 10pm and we have to call out waiters for almost an hour and a half before our table is really good to go. Also called 2 weeks before to reserve a certain table, we went around 8pm 2 hours early too to remind of our reservation. Then come 9:30pm our reserved table was already occupied by other guests. Had to fight our way with the reception to get to our reserved seats. The inside area is reeking of cigarette smoke since most guests are chinese, but they have a proper smoking area outside.

The resto is really good considering the location, but the lack of experience and proper training of the staff ruined everything good about this place.

Will not be coming back...

More like WOW COCKROACHES! 🪳

Went for an early dinner yesterday 08/19/25 around 5:30pm, at first service was good until we saw 3-4 small cockroaches on the sauce section, literally crawling where the sauces are.

I actually forgave this and said, its probably because of the plants that are displayed on that section.

Then while we are grilling and enjoying are food, a big cockroach 🪳 appeared on our table, I do not know if its coming from the table or coming from their fresh food.

Knowing that the rating for this restaurant is 4.9, I am expecting a 4-5 star experience, but its not true!

We stopped and got the bill, manager was nice but only offered a 10% discount.

I had a great experience at Wow Cow Moa! The prices are quite reasonable, making it a good spot for a casual meal. I was impressed by the wide variety of foods and meats available, offering plenty of choices to suit different tastes. The location is convenient, and there's parking available, which is a big plus. Although parking might be a bit challenging on weekends due to the many other restaurants in the area, there's enough space overall. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The only minor downside is that the place is a bit older and could use some cleaning updates, but it didn't affect my overall positive impression. Definitely...
