This branch of Romantic Baboy was a huge disappointment compared to others we’ve tried. I was initially excited about their premium wagyu cubes and mac and cheese, but the experience fell flat. It took forever to get seated, and once we were, the table was missing so many essentials—there were no personal dipping sauces, no water, and no lettuce. The place was uncomfortably hot, and I was sweating so much throughout the meal.
The wagyu cubes tasted overly processed, almost like spam, and definitely weren’t worth the upgrade. The bulgogi lacked flavor and didn’t taste marinated. The moksal was tough, chewy, and looked like a regular slab of pork—not the fatty, tender moksal we’re used to from other branches. The shrimp tasted old and wasn’t fresh, and the scallops were hard, chewy, and bitter. Even the steamed egg tasted off and didn’t seem fresh. The mac and cheese was another letdown—it tasted so bland and not cheesy at all.
The side dishes were also disappointing. The green onions didn’t have the red Korean sauce, the kimchi didn’t taste fermented, and the dipping sauces weren’t the usual Korean-style ones Romantic Baboy typically serves. Overall, the food tasted less authentically Korean.
They served melon milk as the free drink, which my baby enjoyed, but it didn’t pair well with the grilled meats and side dishes. I asked for regular lemon iced tea, which usually complements the food, but they only had red iced tea, which tasted bland.
The branch uses a QR code ordering system, but it was so frustrating because it didn’t work properly. It was also incredibly difficult to catch the attention of the waiters, and it felt like they weren’t interested in taking our orders. To make things worse, the TV screens were turned off, so I couldn’t enjoy the usual K-pop music videos that add to the Korean ambiance.
I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I definitely wouldn’t go back. I’d rather dine at Premier at Gil Fernando, Romantic Baboy at Sta. Lucia, or Samgyupsalamat at Marcos Highway. This branch just doesn’t meet the standards of the...
Read moreTerrible service. We were walk ins, my partner and I. They literally sat us in a seat with no ventilation and no lights. On the first grilling we complained about the lights and it was obvious they forgot about it because they were pointing fingers and laughing. Later on a group arrived I'm not sure if they had reservations and all but that was just the point where they turned on the AC and they even put on a fan for them, we were already at an hour at this place and they never offered or did that for us even though it was obvious we never liked our table. I'm not sure why there was a discrepancy in treatment maybe because we were just wearing slippers and our indoor clothes. But we were only dressed like that because we're just a ride away and almost locals to the area. We went on a whim and could've been regulars. But will probably never eat at a romantic baboy ever again. We have eaten at their libis/Eastwood branch, cubao/alimall one and even their IPI one (before it closed like almost 2 years ago) and I must say this branch...
Read moreToday was a great experience dining there. Normally, you would have to wait for the meat to be delivered, when you arrive at the ta me. Lo and behold, they everything was ready, the side dishes, and there were two servings of meat on the table. There was simply no downtime or time wasted because as soon as you arrive, you can immediately roast your dishes, aside from the side dishes that are already there. It seems like a good change for their services. Also, there was no wait time to get refills or additional orders of meat and dishes. Ordering was instant. I did notice that they charge 8% service charge for somewhat a self-service place, but considering the change and improvement in the services, this 8% charge is well worth the price. The buffet is still at 599.00 per head so the pricing is aligned with other similar Korean Barbecue...
