Clean Room but Misleading View, Breakfast, and Maintenance Issues

Review: I stayed at Jinjiang Inn Ortigas from December 30, 2024, to January 1, 2025, and booked a Business Queen Room through Trip.com. My experience was a mix of positives and negatives, with some aspects not meeting expectations set by the listing.

Positives: The room was clean upon arrival. Staff were polite and accommodating, especially when I requested a room change (though none were available). The à la carte breakfast provided on the first day was generous and filling.

Areas for Improvement: Misleading Room Description: The listing advertised a city view, but my room’s window only faced the back and wall of the adjacent building. This felt misleading and detracted from the experience. Towel Quality: The towels provided on the first day were worn out and should no longer be in use. I have photos to substantiate this observation. Maintenance: The room was clean but showed signs of wear and tear (e.g., cabinet doors needing repair), indicating a lack of upkeep. Breakfast Expectations: I specifically booked this hotel because of the advertised buffet breakfast. However, on the first day, no buffet was served due to low guest turnout, and only à la carte was available. While the meal was generous, it wasn’t what I expected, especially during the New Year holiday when many travelers would hope for the full experience. Ventilation: The room felt suffocating without a proper view or natural light.

Stayed 3D2N. Business trip. Accessible, easy to find, walking distance to a lot of convenience stores and fast food chains/good restos.

About the room... CONS: needs more light (white or bright lights), wallpapers torn on certain areas, aircon does leak and sometimes, droplets are on the bed -- what worked for me was maintaining the temp at 21 to 23 deg.C; lacks top holder/bathroom rack inside shower area; kettle was very dirty and rusty so decided not to use PROS: spacious, full ammenities, BEST BED-PILLOWS COMBO I've had in a 3-star hotel. This means a lot to me; full curtains even in bathroom; very clean and no particular scent/smell

• the topmost lock on the door is not jammed or broken -- I belive it's a safety lock (see photo).
• you may ask for more hangers but best to bring your own
• no iron/board in the room. No laundry service.
• exhaust is connected to one of the light switch. Hoping this could be improved (separate switches, please)
• Noise level depends on neighboring visitors. Lucky that my floor was quiet during those days.

Breakfast Buffet @ Horizon Cafe was a 6/10 for me. Filling selections, but the taste is so-so. OK for Php600/day.

Service...THANK YOU. On day 1, I went back to the hotel and I was very tired. I asked one of the housekeepers if she would kindly ask the kitchen if they can reheat my food -- she accepted and helped me with it. Kudos to ms. Maricel for your service. Everyone was very helpful (from the guards, frontdesk, housekeeping, kitchen/dining). Very professional.

I enjoyed my stay. Will book again. Thank you Jin Jiang...
