Cabalen SM City Fairview — Restaurant in Quezon City

Here for my vacation and it was my first time trying Cabalen and I was disappointed. Though there was a variety of foods served in the buffet, most of it was cold or tasteless. They have Dinuguan with nothing but all “taba ng baboy”. Others are Karekareng twalya, Pasta in red sauce, and Pancit which are both tasteless, to be honest. Sinigang soup which is cold (since sira daw yung warmer, and they will not offer to reheat your soup unless you approach the service staff), different varieties of fish either grilled or fried, fruit platter which is overexposed na ata sa ice or nalamog na somehow since wala ata kumakain since they opened on that day, iced tea among other drinks na lasa at amoy sabon yung mga baso so di mo rin maiinom.

The staff at the other side of the buffet keeps on monitoring the temperature of the foods on the buffet table through a handheld temperature gun, though it is under “food warming” lights I guess, but once you eat the food, it's really cold!

There’s a lot of staff roaming around but no one is table checking to ask their diners if everything is okay or if anyone needs anything.

There’s a lot more that I can discuss but I won't keep this longer. Sana iba yung ibang outlets. Sayang kung mapabayaan yung legacy ng Cabalen restaurant. The top management should look on ways to improve the overall quality of the food and...

We were enticed to dine in here, thinking it was cheap. But we we're surprised that we're billed more, because the VAT is not inclusive in the price.

There's not much food to choose from, so we felt that it's not worth it, even if we're already expecting that it's less than other buffet because of the price.

It's also hard to get service, as attendants aren't always present. Maybe they have other tasks or duties to attend to, but it's still necessary to always have someone to attend to customers. When I asked a waiter for another glass of water, he's quite in a hurry, causing the water to spill on the table.

I din't feel the usual hospitality that I experience when dining on other restaurants. I know that I paid less as compared to other restaurants, but I think that it's still not worth paying for.

A BAD PLACE TO EAT. One of the restaurant crew who collects the used plates and cleans the table disrespects the guests by intentionally throws out the chairs and tables. Bastos to customers.

Even after we spent over 15,000 thousand for our meals today. This male staff must be disciplined and warned if not removed for such a bad behavior.

Kulang na lang palayasin kami sa upuan namin. I hope management will investigate this incident. The rude male staff is short and light skinned.

Or in fairness, baka naman overworked or underpaid or walang pahinga. Yet still, it is not right to show that attitude while serving customers.

I did not see any manager who supposed to be supervising the staff. No wonder bad ang customer service.
