Dulcinea is a cozy and neighborhoody type of restaurant with feeling of familiarity but with a bit of nostalgic sophistication.
Right upon entering the premises, one sees theie display of various decdent baked products that make your mouth water. The interiors have been refurbished, and some walls have been knocked down which allowed for wider spa es in between the tables and benches. The wall.paintings are bright with the upper portion of the walls decorated with plates, ceramics and whatnots which made them less boring.
The mushroom soup I got was served hot and a bit too thick-- like porridge without thw grains It was delicious, though a bit salty. The bread on the side, however, was boring... The two slices were cold, and too chewy. They could have toasted it a bit.
My pesto pasta arrived right on time, and hot. I could smell the basil aroma from the other side of the table where the bowl of pasta was placed while i was finiahing my soup. The pasta was al dente, and was drizzled with enough olive oil and basil. The flavor of pine nuta came through, although that was all I could detect. There was not much texture to the pasta dish, and.at the bottom of the plate was a bit too much of olive oil. The garlic bread, I should mention, was garlicky and buttery, and rightly toasted.
Then, I tasted their Churros de leche, which was forgettable. The churroa were too brown and too sweet. The leche inside the churros did not excite... The churros looked thin and unappetizing, so I got another serve of churros with chocolate.. That somehow made uo for that sad experience with the churros con leche.
Wait Staff and the other personnel in the restaurant can make or break the ambience of a restaurant. They contribute a lot to creating a relaxing mood of the restaurànt for the comfort of their guests. Conversations or noise.from Manager and staff must be kept private or to the minimum... not during this visit.
I could hear thw converstatuon between Manager and Senior/Head Waiter from my table while they were two to three meters away from each other, and they, three to four meters away from me. From my table, I could hear their dishwashers singing, while doing the dishes... practixally, one can hear the clanging of spoons and forks, and water running from the faucet with their sound system blaring the songs "Narda", "Umuwi ka na, Baby" and "Before I Let You Go."
Relaxing? Hmmmmmm..... Good food? Ahhhmmm... yes... Will i recommend Dulcinea? Yes.

Read moreCelebrated my mother's birthday here recently. We were looking for paella and decided to try here.
So was told this place has been around for many years and within the cafe it kind of shows. The crowd you can tell is more on the 50-60ish range. May have been just that time we visited.
Food was nice. Came out in a timely manner. Except the paella , may have to reorder this in time as it takes 35 to 40 minutes. So if you have time go ahead and order it..
We got the paella, baked pasta and marina pasta, some shrimp and fried calamari, adobo chicken/pork and salad and the churo's.
Serving is good and taste was good.
Servers were attentive and even the Adobo took longer than expected so we cancelled it (with out any problems) although it was included in the final bill I brought it up with the cashier who quickly adjusted it.
A quiet place for a catch up...
