First off, the resto was very nice. The table is spacious and the atmosphere is very clean and cozy.
The staffs was very nice and accomodating. Had my reservation cancelled because we got there late but the staffs made sure that we are comfortable while waiting for our turn and they even had free drinks while waiting for an available table.
HOWEVERRRRRRRRR— The Japanase Tofu or whatever you call it, it tastes BLAND and merely flour type. I've been to other hotpot's and japanese tofu is my favorite but Lan's japanese tofu is MEH
The Lobster Ball tastes life fishball. Again, been to other hotpot places and the lobster ball shouldn't tastes like that. Maybe they should improve it because it tastes nothing but straight flour, can't even taste the so-called lobster or whatsoever.
The Fried Foods, it was served too oily, atleast strain the oil please. It looks like they put it straight to the plate after frying it.
The Soup, we got the Signature Chicken and the other Gold Chicken soup, i don't know what it's called but yea. It tastes good but a little bland.
The Meat, the beef that was served at the choices section was good. It looks so fresh and tastes fresh. However, the beef that was topped in the shaved ice that was given to us was so fatty, we can't even eat it due to its rubbery-like texture.
The Sauces- It's a so-so.
The Drinks, they served an iced tea that was included in the unlimited menu, it tastes good tho coz it's lipton, but there's no other juice choices. Although they offer other cola drinks for 80-100 pesos I think.
The Fruits, when we came there yesterday the fruit was all NOT AVAILABLE. Kinda disappointing tho.
The Ice Creams, they offer Joyice Ice Cream, it's good for dessert because there's no other option.
Overall, 2/5— the points was for the staff's friendliness and the cleanliness of the place. For 699-799 pesos, personally, it's not worth it. You can try other hotpots inside the mall that was cheaper but has more variety of food choices and more quality foods. But anyway, it's worth to try but will still go back to my go-to-hotpot place....
Read moreWe visited the Gateway branch during dinner time. They were on soft opening.
The place and ambience were great. It looks clean from the outside. The floor did not feel sticky or slippery just like other hotpot and samgyup place.
We got the Signature Chicken and Mala soup base. Both were great. We asked for the Mala soup base to be less spicy but I don’t know if they made it less spicy but it was very spicy for me. If you mix them though, the Mala base would still predominate.
I’m not sure if it’s because we ate near closing time, but there was no beef available. We had to wait a while for it to be available. Take note that a lot of tables are still eating. Also, they only have 1 choice of pork and beef. The meatballs, noodles, vegetables and mushrooms were not labeled so it’s kinda hard to distinguish which one is which. So if you’re not familiar with hotpot, you’ll have a difficult time choosing.
The sauce was the biggest let down. It was very salty. As in I felt like I’ll have hypertension after eating because of how salty it was. The condiments for the sauce were also already lacking and out of stock. We asked for them if they can make a sauce for us but they refused and said they’re not allowed. We raised our concern that the sauce was very salty and they gave us peanut sauce which kinda lessened the saltiness but we still did not enjoy it.
They have unlimited iced tea and ice cream too which is a plus.
The price of 699 and 799 for unlimited hotpot without a lot of meat choices was a let down and is not worth it for us.
Overall, it was good we got to try it but would not be...
Read moreI really ❤️ the food here—there’s a lot of variety to choose from, and the chicken soup is especially amazing! Overall, the food is great and enjoyable every time we visit.
However, there are a couple of things I’d like to share. First, some utensils were lacking during our meal, which was a bit inconvenient. Second—and more importantly—we encountered a disappointing situation involving the staff.
We had reserved a table for 8 people to celebrate a family member’s birthday. We specifically asked in advance if the restaurant offers any kind of birthday surprise, like a song or something special, as we’ve experienced in other places. One staff member told us they do, and even mentioned something about a membership being included. Because of that response, we decided to go ahead and celebrate there.
We even gladly filled out surveys when asked, thinking it would help staff prepare or make the experience better. But sadly, nothing special was done, and we kept trying to follow up during the meal—almost like begging—because we really wanted our birthday celebrant to feel appreciated on their special day.
It was disappointing to see that even by the time we got the bill, nothing had been done. We understand if the staff was shorthanded or busy, but if something can’t be done, it’s better to just let us know honestly rather than give false hope or commitment.
That said, we still love the food and we’ll likely come back. Just hope that the customer experience can match the great...
