It’s a HUGE establishment, good for events i guess. But I think the quality suffered a little... I’m always a fan of Max’s since I was young but unfortunately this branch didn’t gave justice to the food and service of Max’s Restaurants.
The space was huge, that’s why the air-conditioning system was greatly compromised. It felt like there was no air-conditioning inside. The service was quite bad, except for the receptionist and the guard who assisted us to park! They are both outstanding but the rest of the staff are literally just loitering around the cashier area and pretending not seeing us.
We didn’t wait long for the food its an average of 15-20 mins approx. We ordered:
Lumpiang Ubod- which was too cold!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ almost frozen like!!! very upsetting... Family Chicken - within standard. which is good. Crispy Pata - was well cooked as well. Adodbong baboy - didn’t really like their version of it as it tasted like lechon kawali with soya sauce. Chopsuey - over cooked veggies Pinakbet - it was not good at all! i always thought their pinakbet was good but this time... its bad. Sizzling tofu- good Pansit Canton - they said it serves 3 pax but i guess i can finish it by myself! Sinigang na belly- just plainly sour. not good. the veggies were not cooked. Halo-Halo- was good. not too sweet
Environment:3/5 Waiting: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 2/5
What I liked: crispy pata and halo-halo
What I disliked: service + pinakbet +...
Read moreAtmosphere was nice at first glance. It was quite busy with large parties celebrating in the various events rooms but even with tabletop paging for the waitress, the service was very slow. We received our food before we ever received our drinks and had to page over 3 times and ask 3 different waitresses for our drinks. Overall, at least 15-20 minutes total was spent just waiting for response, which is excessive and unacceptable... especially when the focus was on casual conversations among a few waitresses while we paged multiple times.
The food was mediocre at best, it came warm but not hot as if it had not just been prepared. I've had Max's on Shaw and the service and food was far better but also a far smaller location
Overall I would not recommend this location unless you have a large party and plan to utilize their party room. The service was very poor and came with a disregard for the customer. There was no haste in the workers except to continue their personal conversation. The service I received made me feel as though I was burden on the waitresses and their pressing conversation.
Save your money because there are restaurants that give far better service and far...
Read moreWe used to love this restaurant because of its big windows with nice views, creating a romantic ambience. However, one side where the windows are, are now covered with blinds.
Another thing is the chicken, which made this restaurant famous, is no longer freshly made, but more like reheated; the same with the crispy pata. The rice was cold, more like kaning lamig or rice that was made a day ago. (This is kind of the norm for Max's as even in their other branches, the chicken tastes like it was cooked earlier and re-dipped into the cooking oil. At one time, the chicken looked like it was reheated longer than necessary).
I miss those days when we have to wait a while but be rewarded with hot, freshly cooked food.
I guess, restaurants should go back to the basics of making food fresh and cooked only upon...
