MyThai Kitchen - Gateway — Restaurant in Quezon City

Waiting times are very long even on not-so-busy days. We've been here several times and our orders always take 35-45 minutes to arrive. Every time we're here, our food orders arrive one plate at a time with very long intervals in between that we couldn't really enjoy our meals.

On three different occasions, the waiters got our orders wrong. The first two were fine because the waiters at the time acknowledged and apologized for their mistake. The first time this happened, I thought maybe it was difficult to hear us with masks on so I made it a habit to point at the food I want to order from the menu whenever I'm eating at a restaurant.

However, on our last visit the waiter who assisted us insisted we never ordered pad thai (my companion heard me order pad thai, saw me point at it on the menu, and we both heard our waiter mention pad thai upon repeating our order). But even after explaining this to the waiter, he still insisted we did not order pad thai. The manager didn't even bother to intervene. We waited for 45 minutes for an incomplete order. 🍽️🌶️🥗 Food - Their binagoongan rice is really tasty and good for 1-2 persons. Pork belly lemon grass is just fine but not a fan. Fried shanghai roll is good and crispy. Shrimp fried rice was not like what it was in the picture, they chopped the 🍤 into smaller bites. Beef curry red chili or kare-kare is meaty. They are all good for the price worth.

🥤🧊 Drinks - we tried Thai ice milktea and it's did not disappoint. It's really Thai and not just powdered milktea. Their watermelon 🍉 shake is okay and not too sweet.

🍦🥭🍨 Dessert - I've been wanting to try the mango sticky rice and all I could say is that I'll be ordering it again. Must try! 👍

👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Staffs - very friendly and accommodating. They were able to give us the estimated time that they will serve our food and they were able to deliver on time. They are attentive with our requests.

📍Place/Ambiance - I've compared it with the previous place and this one is much better, eye catching and the interior is giving good thai vibes....

We enjoyed the food. Got the vegetable pad Thai, tamarind juice, dessert sampler, and breaded fish fillet plate. They also serve Vietnamese coffee now, so I'm very happy about that.

The pad Thai was a little on the sweet side (very Pinoy) but the accompanying lemon helped balance it out. That, and the fish plate were bigger than expected. The desserts were light and delicious.

Serving sizes are pretty good for the price. We also got attentive and polite service from the staff (our waiter's name starts with an 'H' and he was very responsive). The other female staff were also observant and helpful.

The place is cozy especially for a Cubao mall. I'm glad they made changes to their menu and it looks like they listen to feedback about staff performance. Thank...
