Yakimix — Restaurant in Quezon City

We went on a WEEKDAY group DINNER out at around 5pm at SM North the Block, looking for a buffet restaurant as walk-ins...ay naku, daming kalaban... there's no definite time when you'll be catered. Inabot kami ng 6:30 pm kakahintay sa pila ng ibang kilalang buffet resto. ...Lipat kami. No choice gutom na. We got a queue number at YAKIMIX, have to wait for 10-15 minutes before calling in. The place is spacious, well lighted, long tables available with grillers. and yes smokeless nga pag nag grill kayo. May music in the air din. Buffet plan, self serve, choose & pick, grill & eat, Only....the re-fill is slow, you have to wait for a new dish to come out, and head fast to it baka maunahan at maubusan ka ng iba...Unahan yan.,, malas mo kung maubusan ka. Take your time, there's no dining time limit until closing time 10pm, buffet trays pack-up at 9:30pm, they will give a last call if you still need or have to get food. Avoid large leftovers, Don't waste food, its an old home practice, daming nagugutom di ba? Just get the amount you can finish, you may refill your plate anyway. Food: Chicken BBQ, Lechon Kawali, penne pasta, desserts, sushi, sashimi, picka-picka...just look at my videos/ pics of it.... Disappointment: Tempura is limp not crispy, its more flour, the shrimp is not whole but trimmed... Staffs are polite. Pets not allowed may sign board sila nyan sa entrance. My experience: Just an ORDINARY dine-out...kaka umay sa paningin. May suka sila masarap...I...

I visited Yakimix SM North a year ago and honestly wasn’t impressed but this recent visit completely changed my mind. After their renovation, the entire vibe is so much better. Now it’s cleaner, brighter, and more modern.

We walked in without a reservation and were seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise considering how packed it usually gets.

The food selection has also improved a lot. There’s a wider variety now, from sushi to grilled meats to desserts and everything was fresh and constantly refilled. I appreciated how the stations were well-organized, and it was easy to go back for seconds (and thirds).

But what really stood out was the service. Staff were more attentive and efficient this time around, plates were cleared promptly, and we didn’t have to wave around for help like in the past. It really feels like the branch took all the past feedback and made real changes.

SM North Edsa 04/11/2022: One of the WORST experiences ever at a buffet. Yakimix opened at 11:30am yesterday (04/11/2022). I was waiting for 2 more friends so we didn’t enter until 11:30am. Upon approaching the food area, there were about 20 almost empty dishes of food that were presented. My friends and i decided to have a little dessert (in which was not sufficient) just to wait and allow the crowd to dissipate. After 30mins, the staff was refilling like two servings of food very 5-7mins. This establishment was not even supposed to open to the public when the food was inadequate. Plates used were also piling up from not being picked up. I would NEVER wish someone to experience these unfortunate circumstances! I felt that I just ate fast food at a buffet price and the food was very mediocre. If I could rate them a star of NEGATIVE 20, I would have done so in a heartbeat! NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I...
