Cabalen Trinoma 10 December 2018 7-9pm. I came to this restaurant with my family at the request of my balikbayan son. The ambience is good. But the food is not what is used to be. The choices were few. The frog legs, crispy talangka, and other exotic fare were absent. The platter where the longganisa is placed remained empty throhout the time. Fried and inihaw chicken was missing and and many others that I ddi not see. Anyway, we were there to enjoy the company ofy family, but the pritchon was rubbery, the buro was bad, the pancit was rancid yet we did not rant about it. But what topped my disappoint was how I was treated when parent had to be made. It took a long time for them to serve the bill (even after calling the waiters' attention 3x). To compound it, they took my ID as I paid with my card for security reasons they say. But what broke the camel's back was they carelessness of the cashier in handling my cars. I was asked to type the PIN twice! After the first try, some paper churned out of the machine but the cashier tore it and threw it away and then she asked for another PIN input as she says the transaction did not happen. I asked her to show me the discarded receipts. She took it from the trach can but I cannot say it it is the same receipt. I decided to borrow cash from my party to pay the bill. I'm so disappointed that I feel nauseated with the service. Cabalen restaurant has lost its edge of what it used to be - a place where...

I had a wonderful dining experience at Cabalen in SM North EDSA yesterday, October 13, 2024! For just 548 pesos, their Filipino buffet is an absolute must-visit. The highlight of my meal was definitely the pinakbet; it was flavorful and comforting, truly a standout dish that I thoroughly enjoyed.
While the menu may not be extravagant, it's a significant improvement over what I experienced at Cabalen Trinoma, where I left feeling dissatisfied, especially given the higher prices on Sundays. At SM North, the food quality was much better and really made my visit enjoyable.
A nostalgic touch to my experience was creating my own scrumble for dessert, which brought back wonderful childhood memories. It’s such a fun and personal way to end a meal!
Overall, I highly recommend Cabalen at SM North EDSA for a delightful buffet experience. Don’t miss out on the pinakbet, and indulge in some nostalgic dessert-making! You won’t be...
Read moreWe waited for 30 mins for a seat for us to have dinner. Upon going to the buffet, to our shock there is no food being served (not one variand is available only the crispy kangkong). So my wife informed one of the waiters that there's no food being served anymore. Then the waiter just answered with a tone "Maghintay lang kayo mamaya meron na yan." This is a very good example of a business with very poor customer service. I wasnt able to get the waiters name because we immediately packed our things and left. I myself worked in the F&B industry eons ago but we never treat our customers that they are lucky to have us, but the other way around. I hope people from Cabalen learn to have good...
