We arrived at 12:30pm as a family of four. Our 9yo son was tired and hungry from the morning’s walking and we’d come out of the cathedral and found this place. As a coeliac I was delighted with the gluten allergen clarity on the menu AND that there were so many dishes I fancied. The kids too saw lots to like. The waiter told us that the kitchen was closed for 30 minutes and we were welcome to wait or come back. We were happy to wait. (Maybe you know where this is going!) We ordered drinks which arrived quickly. 50 minutes later and no-one had come to speak with us. We noticed another table had pizzas delivered. So my wife went inside and asked for the bill. The waiter said the kitchen was still closed as he took our payment. It’s a shame not to have experienced the food. The poor communication is really a problem though. We had somewhere we’d intended to go in the afternoon that we had to miss because of the hour long delay getting food and with children it can be a real downer when they’re hungry. All we expected was - perhaps after 20 minutes the waiter updating us on the kitchen status? Or an apology as he was taking our money - “I’m sorry the kitchen was closed for longer than expected”. From the other reviews it looks like the food is nice but my wife felt disrespected enough not to want...
Read moreAfter a long and tiring journey, we sought solace in the welcoming embrace of Mono Kitchen. Nestled comfortably outside, we eagerly awaited our turn for service, which admittedly took a bit longer than expected. However, once our orders were taken, the anticipation only heightened.
Opting for the pork ribs and salmon steak, we paired our choices with a big glass of local beer and wine. The wait for our food and beverages was a tad lengthy, but as the first bite graced our palates, any frustration melted away. Each morsel was a culinary delight, leaving us truly satisfied.
Despite the occasional delays in placing orders or reordering drinks, the sheer quality of the cuisine at Mono Kitchen is undeniable. The flavors were simply exquisite, and every bite was a testament to the skill and dedication of the kitchen staff.
While the wait times may test one's patience, the overall dining experience more than compensates for any minor inconveniences. For those seeking a gastronomic adventure filled with unforgettable flavors, Mono Kitchen comes highly...

Given the gluten free offer, we decided to give it a shot again today. And it was an amazing experience, far from yesterday's. Apparently, there was a different shift today. The waitress was super nice and caring, fast and smiling all the time.
Lemonades were super fruity and tasty. Beef tartar was heaven in mouth and they were able to provide me with gluten free toasted bread. Simply awesome. Gluten free pasta Carbonara looked so great I forgot to take a picture and dove straight in. And it tasted awesome. My partner's Mono burger was huge and delicious. Overall, the food was super delicious and the portions were big. Normal prices for the city, I would say.
We definitely do recommend visiting this restaurant. Fingers crossed for everyone to bump into...
