We booked to try the restaurant as part of the restaurant week festival in which they were participating. The interior and atmosphere was very picturesque and impressed us. It's a beautiful space. Service was attentive and polite. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the meal itself. Simply Incredibly bad. I am not sure wether this is due to them not considering their participation in the festival as important or simply it being a bad day, but the food was just bad. Too much pomposity and delicate plating and no substance and flavour. Even basic seasoning was off. We had both the offered menus. The starters were nice with the Jerusalem artichoke soup standing out. The beetroot and goat cheese tart was not the nicest but acceptable. The main courses were both disappointing. The guinea fowl was unsalted and very dry and the arancini was bland. The fish had not been cooked well as it's skin was soggy and wet and at the same time the flesh was overcooked and dry, the accompanying polenta was not properly seasoned and the decorations on the plate unnecessarily with the drops of gellified coconut milk just being plain weird. As for the desserts they were ok but nothing special. Overall and extremely underwhelming experience. The food did not live up to the restaurant's reputation. I don't know if this is the case just for the restaurant week set menu but regardless it was a disappointing experience. All looks and...
Read moreAmbience was amazing and service was good. But unfortunately that’s where the good times ended. The ravioli ate very dry, it definitely needed to be in a broth of some kind. I was very excited to try the beef Wellington after reading a whole bunch of reviews, but either they never had beef tenderloin or I got something all together different. At first glance I knew the cooking hadn’t been well executed. Large band of overcooked grey meat on both top and bottom. But it was when I took the sharp steak knife and cut it, or rather tried to cut it. Cut more like a tough piece of pot roast. Flavor was decent but every time I tried to cut a bit size piece, the crust ripped off and the whole plate moved. Sides weren’t what I wanted but that’s subjective. Overall very disappointed with the food, but the decor and history of the almost 500 year old building was worth a peak at or maybe just a glass of wine. I tried their local red wine and was pleasantly surprised by how nice and smooth it was. The best thing I ate that night was the truffle butter and bread before the...
Read moreThis place was an experience. Really good french/upper class cuisine for honestly a very low price, as a tourist.
The place itself is beautiful with a great atmosphere and beautiful french music. The service was superb with the waiter giving us many wine tips and offering extra bread with the beef tartare.
I myself did not order a starter so the waiter actually got me a small starter to enjoy so I could still have something while my friends ate theirs, which I found to be exceptionally friendly of the restaurant.
As a main I had a beef wellington which was absolutely delicious and an amazing deal for only 140 pl (29 euros). My friends got the duck which was also extremely good (probably the best bang for your buck in the restaurant). As dessert I had a delicious red fruit parfait which I can also highly recommend.
All on all, I highly recommend this restaurant. It really is a fine dining experience for a low price, will definitely come back when I'm in...
