Read moreWe popped in for a dinner as we wanted a good steak. I read good reviews from local newspapers so decided to visit. First impression wasn’t that great, people working there were sad and with no energy apart from the bar guy. We ordered one entree-goat cheese which didn’t knock my socks off. Felt like a supermarket cheese roll, rolled in some seeds - not a great flavour rather old seeds and no life in which could be a very good entree. Suggestion to the chefs- maybe make it a little bit smaller and add some more love. For the main we got New York style dried beef. On its own was very nice perfectly cooked-medium rare. Sauces served with it are killing the flavours of the steak. We had butter sauce not too bad but for god sake serve just a tiny bit which you can put on a steak and it can melt. Mushroom sauce ohhh my god too overpowered for the steak and would be better as of a Christmas soup than sauce. Side dishes we ordered weren’t worth the price!!! Salad was like taken from the cupboard where was there since before Christmas!!! Green salad was maybe the only fresh part of it but why the heck you put some bloody old rocket salad on top! Cherry tomatoes were old and who cut small cherry tomatoes into million pieces?! Definitely salad was floating in sauce and wasn’t tasty at all! Suggestion- the more simple salad the better-Salad, fresh tomatoes, cucumber and avocado with olive oil and whit wine vinegar would be perfect for the kind of steak especially the dried on you guys serve! Other side we took was zucchini, pumpkin something...size for a prize was ridiculous and again not very tasty...missing some good seasoning and love. Desserts: cream brûlée - pretty good but two scoops of cookies ice creams are definitely to much or even not needed. It was good on its own and I would just make it a bit smaller. Chocolate mousse- definitely to big portion, one scoop of mousse would be enough, vanilla sauce not vanilla but tasteless sauce, cherry sauce with it average and would be better off mixed and more kind of a jelly. Overall I won’t be coming back unless they do some good staff training and chefs become more creating...
First of all, I would like to start by saying that the food was excellent and that our female server was very good as well. The host however has no place in the front of the house, especially at this price point. From not being arsed to lean off the wall when we arrived to chatting with his buddy for almost the entire time we were there (giving us only cursory attention when removing our plates and asking 'do you want desert?' like a Marine drill sergeant, this being our only interaction during out dinner), he really put a damper on our evening. This was in marked contrast to all our other dinners in Poland where we had extremely courteous and professional service (I am not asking them to be my best friend but perhaps acknowledge that I am spending my money in their restaurant when I have many choices) and felt welcome. They probably could not give less of a crap what I think in that they are in the old town and get people in all the time. Call me stupid but I think a good restaurant treats ALL their customers the same way: professionally. Most disappointing meal in Poland, by far and it had nothing to do with the food. Also, when it is close to 40 degrees outside, red wine should be...
Read moreI have been looking for a steakhouse that serves a legitimate wagyu, not just the meat but also the preparation of it. I am so happy to learn about Ed Red when I was doing my daily strolls.
They serve the wagyu as of my liking! 😍 I did a test to their server too about wagyu. As Ed Red is giving an option to either have a side sauce for your steak or have it baste with butter and herb. I deliberately asked the server to baste my wagyu steak. It was great that the server is well equipped about the meat specifically what kind of meat it is. She politely recommended not to baste it with butter because wagyu is already fatty. She recommended instead to have a side sauce like demi-glace. I am happy to hear the recommendation as it displays how trained they are. Overall, the steak was great. I am really dancing on my seat while eating it hehe!
I am interested to try their free-raised chicken but it is for 2-3 persons. Next time will bring friends here to try that.
I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice steak and roasted chicken.
Thank you, Ed Red for a wonderful experience in your restaurant!...
