We just arrived in Krakow, and this is the first place we went to. It wasn't hard to make a decision because this place looked incredible on google maps! I am so happy we came here. We were immediately greeted by friendly English-speaking staff. The menu is fully translated, and the options are amazing. It's a must try if you want to experience traditional Polish dumplings. Their fillings are very varied with lots of flavours for every taste! It's impossible not to find something that you like. In the picture, you can see their mixed variety option. I love that you can mix and match the options if you don't want to be limited to just one option at a time. They were delicious! The filling is suuuper tasty, well-cooked, and the aromas just melt in your mouth. The serving is very big and the price is super fair. The restaurant is intimate and cosy, and it doesn't feel too crowded. I also loved the plates. Super adorable and traditional at the same time.
It is also super close for those who are staying in the Jewish neighbourhood. I totally recommend...
Read moreI came by on a Saturday night and couldn’t be accommodated as a solo diner without a reservation. They offered to make one for the next night which I accepted. Earlier on Sunday I decided I wanted to eat earlier so I messaged them on FB and they quickly responded and moved me to my new time desired. Upon arrival, I was offered a table in the long hallway behind the main front room and stairs to the lower level. I didn’t realize there was dining space downstairs so might recommend that or the front room by the street for a little more ambiance.
As it’s winter, I wanted a warm drink and asked the waitress if the mulled wine or mulled honey beer was better and she suggested the beer. I thought it would be sweeter (I like sweet) but it grew on me through the meal. Ended the meal on a sweet note though with the little apple pie dumplings. Yum 😋 A half-portion would have been perfect though.
I wanted a traditional Polish meal my last night in Krakow and am glad I was able to eat...
Read moreUnfortunately after a week of eating in some beautiful cafés and restaurants in Krakow we finally had a poor experience. We arrived and we're told there were no tables, only outside and as it was about 5 degrees we said we'd wait. After a little while several tables emptied but it was a good 10 minutes before we were seated. The decor and ambience are reminiscent of a school canteen and the service was incredibly poor. We had to go back to the reception area to ask to order and we're then told that we couldn't mix sweet and savoury pierogi despite the menu suggesting, in English, just that. The food eventually arrived and was underwhelming at best but as we're no pierogi experts I've been generous with the score. Of note is a card on the table which suggests that you get 10% off if you leave a good review on Google. I feel that this probably elevates it's review score and probably doesn't reflect this generally...
