This is probably my longest review ever, and it's only because this place is terrible in every aspect.
I honestly wish I have never paid and supported this "museum". No regards whatsoever for animal life, terrible conditions and I wish someone would close them and arrange a place for the animals to live a respectful life that they deserve.
It's 2 rooms: the entry, that has a bunch of (of course) dead butterflies as expected in a museum,
and ONE tiny dark room where you can find:
2 poor rabbits being chased by children because employees don't care or are not instructed to keep the animals safe. The bunnies also had their water bottle upside down, so it was impossible for them to even have water. This simple and basic thing, had to be pointed out to an employee,
beautiful birds living in constant panic because people try to grab them - I saw one being taken from it's nest, leave 3 tiny eggs exposed. The bird was too scared to go back,
a tiny cabinet with cocoons - the next victims,
a few reptiles living in tiny spaces, surely not big enough for the bearded dragon,
And, the main attraction, the butterflies.
POOR BUTTERFLIES.
They have zero zero zero (omg infinite times zero) levels of care. Their food was a dead plant wall, zero natural light. They have a wall with fluorescent light that attracts the butterflies. And because they are so weak, you can just grab them. As a result, there's butterflies with broken wings, broken legs, some are so weak that they cannot even fly, so they are on the ground just waiting to be stepped on.
This is honestly a JOKE of a place, museums are supposed to preserve and respect life, history and teach you something.
This place teaches nothing. In fact, it does teach that there are just really sad and bad people that will use greed and a lack of respect for everything to open up a "museum" and rip people off and mistreat animals.
It's just such a sad place overall, and no one actually should be...
Read moreAt last day of our road trip through beautiful Poland we decide to spend one more night in Krakow just to visit Museum of the Living Butterfly. Come there on Sunday morning 30th June to enjoy in morning visit and to be relaxed with our short time. When we saw staff inside, few minutes after 10:00 AM we come in to buy tickets. But, employee told us to come in 5 minutes despite the fact their working time already started. Ok, we take a short walk and come again in six minutes, there were now two of them (girls employees), still not prepared to sell us tickets and again told us to come on 3 minutes, speaking with us like we are dogs trying to get some bones from them. I told them that it is very unprofessional of them and that we are waiting for 10 minutes and that their working time start at 10:00AM. After that we get the tickets and finally start our visit. At museum room they let us inside and didn't speak a single word with us during all our visit, behaving unpleasant, rude and completely unprofessional, clearly showing we offend them with our complaint about negligence. At the same time there were two more visitors in museum and an employee talk to them, explain them and behaving like we are two pieces of garbage which has to be moved soon. One of the biggest disappointments of all my museum visits ever in life. I am not going to speak about exponents, because they become irrelevant in the shadow of rudest personel ever. For the owner- you will never ever cross your below average rate if you wont improve your service and realize that what makes difference is personnel,...
Read morePlease don’t support this place. The birds are kept in a small room, with bright lights and no air flow. There were few places to hide for them and no quiet areas. There was a tiny fountain on the side that looked very cheap and improper for the birds- the room was very hot but not humid and felt very dry. For the rabbits, they were all extremely stressed. They were hiding away, clearly very scared- running away, backing into corners and shaking, . There was a couple of small bowls of cheap dry food and no visible water bowls for them to drink from. Again, no designated areas to rest- just very small and cheap “ houses” that would barely fit one rabbit in. As for the butterflies, they all looked extremely weak, resting on the side fabric with broken wind, legs and there was little food, other than one plate. I saw no butterflies actually fly, assuming due to their poor health. The worker would pick them up harshly by their wings- when they passed me one, its wing was actually bent from the ordeal. They should not be picked up in this way. The room has was painted and filled with bright colours and cheap touristy items to buy , seemingly very appealing to kids but please do not waste your money on this place- it is clear it is a cheap tourist trap that do not care about animal welfare and only want your money. We felt extremely sad and quickly left after realising this business does not care about its animals. The business replies to negative reviews with the exact same answer and does not actually respond to the comments about the poor animal care , clearly showing...
