The most credit this place gets is that its Harry Potter themed. Thats probably it.
They don't have Butter Beer, only milk with caramel and some sort of "Spice" (I'm guessing cinnamon or pumpkin spice) which can come hot or cold. The HP-themed menu boasts brekkie, lunch, and other HP-themed drinks and desserts. There are probably some other miscellanea from the menu that I'm missing.
The server informed me that the name "Butter Beer" on the menu was changed to "Caramel Beer" or something like that, so I'm not sure what I was expecting. It was literally just sweet caramel milk, haha. My friend ordered the double chocolate cake. It was alright, nothing special.
My main gripe is with the ventilation. The lower levels of this cafe were not properly ventilated, and the room smelled like old diapers. It was exceedingly stuffy. The whole time I was there, I was staring longingly at the ventilation pipes on the ceiling.
The service was fine and the atmosphere was nice, although the rooms were kind of dark. There was a projection of the occasional ghost hissing through the "walls" and there were HP references everywhere, which were hilarious/delightful. It was all kind of pulpy. Mostly in a good way, but I'm still not sure what to think about my visit here. It was mostly dull in the extreme.
All in all, Harry Potter fans should come here for photos and selfies and the visual experience. Don't expect the food to be any good or even accurate. If you want actual Hogwarts Feast Realness, go to the Warner Bros. Studio...
Read moreReally bad experience! I was disappointed by my treatment at the cafe due to being a tourist. I ordered the “Chocolate Oasis” it was advertised as mainly chocolate however, it was over powered by banana if I knew this was the case I would have asked for it to not have this item as I cannot stand it. So my boyfriend told me to go and speak to the woman as I would have left the item otherwise so I did and I got treated in a rude and abrupt manner by the woman behind the counter with brown hair and a pony tail she spoke to her coworker the woman with blonde hair and glasses and they rudely told me you need to buy it again pretty much stated it’s not their problem. Very frustrating as I was excited to visit here I understand I will be a one off customer but that does not mean you provide bad customer service. Staff are very rude especially ones behind the counter would avoid if a tourist as you clearly are not welcomed. This is a shame as it is a nice business but considering Krakow is such a tourist attraction the business dynamic needs to be changed treat english speaking people the same as polish as I could tell we were treated differently. The overall atmosphere and theming was nice which let down the whole cafe and to add on the drinks were a bit...
Read moreA fun quirky Harry Potter themed cafe under the Old Town. Everything is slightly different enough from the films. The props, like house flags, aren't exactly the same and there's no official images of actors from the films. Instead they're drawings. This I assume is to get around copyright issues but adds a lot of homemade charm to the experience. The tunnels the cafe is in are a great setting for the theme and are full of Harry Potter references which is fun. They are have boardgames which a lot of people seemed to be playing. There's a lot a small shop selling merchandise that is officially branded and cute. The menu is also all Harry Potter themed which was cute but the quality and vegetarian options were a bit lacking. Pumpkin periogi were the only vegetarian food item which I had and they were able to make my partner a sandwich with the meat taken out so it was be vegetarian which was kind and they were mainly premade. The food was okay but definitely not the best we had on Krakow. The drinks I had a chai latte which turned out to be a coffee latte with added cinnamon. The highlight was the bubbling potion drinks though! They were really fun and delicious and really looked like potions. I would go back and just have that and...
