AVOID. Having been there the day before to have a beer and glass of wine for my wife, we felt confident to go back the next evening for a meal. We had a lovely snack on our first visit but on our return...it was appalling. First of all the service is terrible. The waitress had no idea what the difference between dry and sweet wine was! this was not a language problem. My wife is Polish and actually lived and worked in Krakow. So, we ordered, the food came fairly quickly but was very disappointing. The deep fried oyster mushrooms were so overcooked the breadcrumbs were dark brown and the inside contents actually made us all gag. Even the waitress admitted it was rank. The mussels in tagliatelle were so dry and they were 10mm long and so overcooked it was embarrassing. After my family all pushed their plates away in disgust I felt it was time to get the bill and leave this dump. Whilst we waited for our bill i got eyeballed by the guy behind the bar who was trying to intimidate me infront of his useless girly waitresses, especially the blonde one who was taking every opportunity to laugh behind her hand and make us feel as uncomfortable as possible.. To Sum up: Empty restaurant, now I know why. Warm wine served in warm glasses. Amateur cooking with schoolboy errors. Poor service with grumpy staff resorting to smashing bottles into the bottle bin to intimidate us. Massively overpriced.
Avoid at all costs. Go to the jewish ghetto for top quality food served by professional staff at less than...
Read moreWe recently had a delightful breakfast experience at VELO, and I can't recommend it enough, especially for those with dietary needs.
Their breakfast menu was lovely, offering a great variety of options. What really impressed me was their willingness to cater to my gluten-free needs. They were able to provide a delicious breakfast with less bread, which is often a challenge when eating out. The food itself was excellent, and the portion sizes were just right. On top of the great food, the prices were very reasonable, making it excellent value for money.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. If you're looking for a tasty and accommodating breakfast spot, VELO is definitely...
Read moreVery disappointed. I asked if the soup was vegetarian the response was yes. So I ordered it. I was brought a vegetarian soup with some meat in it because “it does not actually matter. These pieces are just for flavour” I ordered salad which has “chicken or shrimp” in its name. So I chose “shrimp” So the salad with bacon was brought to me. When I decided to clarify my order I was told it was “my fault” so I had to pay for food I barely touched. No apologies. I was blamed instead Well my fault was to choose this place. It’s not about the food. It’s about the way people treat each other. Just a hint -better not to blame the customer for considering “tiny pieces of meat”...
